I have a Mitsubishi television. It's rear projection and like 2 - 3 years old. I turned it on today and the red is all over the place. I tried to go into the convergence menu and fix it, but its so bad that I cannot pull the red all the way back on either side of the television.

Is this fixable? And if it is, is it super expensive to fix? Or should I just give up and buy another television? I've been trying to hold out until the better LCDs either come out or get cheaper (the 120hz and 1080p), but I'll just give up and go buy the Pioneer Elite plasma I originally was going to get if this is unfixable.

Help me. This is fucking unwatchable.

I think it costs around 4-500 to have someone come in and service it.

is your picture to red? because if so the red is not the problem, it is another color.

I had a TV that was too red. All I could get on it was NASCAR and King of the Hill.

Its definitely the red. I can bring up the convergence screen with the white grid where the blue and red are supposed to hide behind the white, and the red is all over the screen.

ding ding ding.

You can have it serviced, but unless you absolutely love it I wouldn't bother. 4-5 is conservative, its probably going to be more than that to fix it.

Yeah, I don't have the money to get the plasma or LCD that I actually want, so I think I'm going to pick up a Samsung DLP, as the reviews have been pretty good. Either the Samsung HL-S5687W or the HL-T5687S.
