Comes out next tuesday.... (http://main.losthighwayrecords.com/news.aspx?bid=1795)
Now, I never bought, or listened to 29, but Cold Roses and Jacksonville City Nights were such great albums, that pretty much means anything he puts out i'll listen to. I just really never got around to buying 29 and the reviews kinda scared me off too, but i might buy it one of these days

I've been checking out some of the videos of the new stuff...and I am really excited to get the album next week.
I have all of his stuff, including some Whiskeytown.
Going to see him in Philly next Thursday.
I'll let ya know how it goes.(Still has a brace on his wrist from an injury and won't be playing guitar...I'm pretty sure their sets right now are acoustic)
The Cardinals are on top of their game right now. I just hope he thinks so as well and keeps them around for a few more albums.

29 was pretty bad...it has 3 songs that I absolutely love, but the rest was an aimless mess.
Easy Tiger is getting some pretty decent reviews...apparently this is the most straight up "alt.country" he's made since the Whiskeytown/Heartbreaker days, which is good to hear.
I'm even more excited about the news that he's putting out all of his unreleased albums in one giant boxset this winter, including final mixes of "lost albums" like The Suicide Handbook and 48 Hours...like 4-5 albums in total. I've had the bootlegs of all of this stuff for years, and he's got a lot of quality stuff unreleased...some of them a LOT better than misses like 29 or RocknRoll.

I remember reading within the last year that Adams and the drummer/fiddler husband and wife duo from Whiskeytown (pretty much the only other constant members besides Ryan) were talking about putting out a Whiskeytown album every 3 or 4 years just for kicks...I really wish they'd follow through on that. Easily one of my favorite bands of all time.

Mojo, if you liked Whiskeytown, check out this album by Caitlin Cary (the chick from the band) and Thad Cockrell (he sounds exactly like Ryan Adams....so much so, I actually thought it was him). Its an amazing, amazing piece of music

Figure this would be a good place to reccomend an Australian band I've adored for a few years now called Augie March...they basically sound like what would happen if Jeff Buckley went alt.country...absolutely gorgeous music.
They've got all of their videos on their web page if anyone wants a listen. (http://augiemarch.com/musicbox/home.do)

I don't really think he has all that much out...I'm looking into maybe getting some of his other stuff too
But Begonias really doesn't seem to have a bad song on it...and "Two Different Things" is such an amazing song

Just bought it after work. After 3 tracks, I dig it.
On my second listen...definitely his best work since Gold.

what kind of vibe is it? alt. country, rock, etc. he always changes up his style, and is one of the main reasons i like him so much.

It's definitely alt country, although it doesn't feel stale at all. If I had to judge about sound I would say somewhere inbetween Heartbreaker & Gold.

Saw him and the cards at the Hiro Ballroom in NYC last night. Sick show.
Small 400 person max intimate show. Acoustic. Secret show for members of his message board.
He was in really good spirits. Joking and smiling all night. His voice is better than I've ever heard it before. Such a tight band.
What a great show.
I'll post some pics and video a little later.

Nice pics, Rich!
Dude says he's clean now, or at least "cleaner" than he was before...the last few years he could still pull of some brilliant shows, but too often he'd be too fucked up and they'd end up being messes.

Anthony DeCurtis was on Bob Edwards' show yesterday reviewing the CD and talking about Ryan Adams' career, and he made some really good points. More than anything, he talked about Adams' seeming fear of being predictable, of feeling like he's giving the audience exactly what they want, not what he wants to do.
The past few years have been frustrating with Adams. He can do good stuff, but a couple of years ago, when he released 3 albums in one year, I think there was one really incredible album somewhere in those 3 CD's. And then last year he spent posting shitty rap and metal songs to his web site.
Maybe he's finally come to some sort of comfort with himself, and he doesn't feel the need to continue sabotaging himself. We'll see.

Last year was a good touring year for him and the Cardinals. They revamped the band...Adding an amazing guitar player and vocalist(NEAL CASAL) New bass player(SPACEWOLF)...and just rethinking shit. He's been clean and sober for over a year now and it really shows with the fluid feeling of this album and the good natured show that I saw last night.
I see good things for him and this band if they can keep it together.
He is a tortured genius though, and we all know what happens to them in the end.
Maybe Ryan needs some predictability in his life. Lord knows he's been erratic enough.

I'm not sure I would call drinking 16 diet cokes before a show being "clean". But hey. Whatever keeps him strong and happy. His voice is really in top form right now. If he comes to your town, do yourself a favor and see him.

I saw them a few weeks ago in Myrtle Beach, SC. Great as always. Full set plus at least an eight song encore.
