I was just watching this movie today and I forgot how fucking great it is. I hadn't seen it in years.

I didn't know it was based on a book, though i shouldn't be surprised. Has anyone read it? is it much different than the movie?

I LOVE this movie.

I never read the book but it was written by the same guy who wrote "The Guns of Navarone" -- another one of my favorite war movies.
