Guys,
Can you guys take a peek at my potential desktop build please? It's going to be for gaming, and photoshop/maya. I'm kinda going off the PCgamer ultimate build, but I am substituting with a couple lower end pieces to keep the price around 1100. The only bit I am not sure is a good match, is the mother board and processor. Also I would like your thoughts on XP vs. vista.. Suggestions are welcome!!

Looks great to me, the only thing I would make sure you have a quality power supply. that video card + processor sucks up a lot of power. some cheap power supplies are rated at 550, but wind up causing damage due to dirty power.

its cool, but if it is straight gaming/photoshop id get a 512mb or more vid card, but thats just my personal preference, id also prolly get 4gb of ram, but since you are trying to keep the price low I can understand only 2

Cool, I'll take a peek at my power before I put it in. I hear ya on the card. Maybe I should spend the extra buxs.
What do you guys think about going with vista or xp as an operating system.. as we all know vista has its quirks.. If I go with xp, I don't want to buy another OS in two years when all the kinks get worked out of vista.

If i had to choose right now, I would choose XP, unless this was not going to be your main computer.
I would also spend a little extra and upgrade the card, esp. if the difference is 50 bucks or so. rather spend it now then wish you had it, and then have to rebuy an entire new card. the only way I would not get it now if you know it will def. run all the stuff you want it to, and something much better is coming out in the next 6-12 months, and you just consider the current card good enough to hold you over until you uprade later on.
And you can get an extra 2GB of RAM for like 40 bucks or something insane right now, not sure if it the correct speed though, but I just bought my cousin 1GB for 21 dollars.

if you have a copy of XP Corporate sitting around, I'd install that for now. Vista's alright, but there's no reason to blow cash on it right now if you don't have to.

Exactly for that price you should def. get a stronger video card.

Is it just me or are you missing a case and a power supply?
If so I will make it easy for you:
Case: Coolermaster Centurion 5
Powersupply: Corsair 520x
As for the rest, pretty good. Same CPU as I just bought and it's really fast, video card is one of the best on the market, motherboard you are going a bit overkill on, you don't need SLI, ram is ram, the average user will never notice a difference between speeds, you don't need ultra high end stuff. As for XP v. Vista, Vista is a waste right now, just stick with XP.
