Ritalin, How Old Are You??? F_S Was Known As The Pinball Wizard At His College, But That Was A Long Time Ago. Are You In The "Plus" Age Group?

Ritalin is 41 years old, does that make me plus age as well as plus size? I was something of a pinball wizard myself back at school in Chicago, the pinball capitol of the world. I loved Fish Tales, the Addams Family, and a few old school tables I can't remember the names of. Best pinball bar in Chicago: Old Town Ale House on North Avenue.

Good story about the Old Town Ale House: It's across the street from Second City, so that and Burton Place were the two comic hangouts in town. There was also a trough urinal in the place, about 5 feet long. I'm in there one night, just hammered, pissing, when some chubby kid came in and started taking care of his own business. He was just pissing, and minding his own business.

I don't know what came over me, but right in the middle of the two of us taking a leak and staring at the wall, I turned around and shouted at the top of my lungs "STOP LOOKING AT ME!" As a joke, you know, but I don't know why I thought it was funny. Well, this guy reacted perfectly. It didn't faze him a bit. He slammed himself against the wall away from me, looked straight to the ground, and started screaming "I'M SORRY I'M SORRY I'M SORRY".

Then he looked up and started laughing, and I'm laughing too. It was a perfect bit. His reaction was so goddamn funny! I slapped him on the back, we went out the bar, I bought him a shot, drank it with him, and went back to drinking with my friends.

It was Chris Farley, before he went to SNL.

235 lb. Thresher Shark was our big catch of the day. Myself and three friends landed it in about 30 minutes. We thought we won the calcutta but another boat brought in a 331 pounder. Also caught three blue shark and a lot of blue fish. All in all a good outing.

Fantastic. I am bruised all over my legs from leaning against the bow but we had about 10 minutes each fighting with it. Swam under the boat at one point and I had to say "I don't know Chief, your fish is either very, very smart or very, very dumb.", of course.

But when you land it on the boat, it is a huge rush.

And the bluefish are a lot of fun to catch in between shark bites. They're a blast too.

My arms are still sore.

nice catch Furtherman! i've been taking my daughters for about 4 years now out for blues on a party boat out of belmar. 3 out of 4 years they've caught more than i have. it's pretty cool on the boat, people like helping them out and they compete with each other for the most catches. they really get into it and have pulled everyone in that's stayed on... they just don't pop the hook out and they'll ask more often than not to have me bait the hook...

Last year it was Chicken Canyon. Not sure this time, the Capt'n has always been good in finding the fish.

Sons a bitches. King Salmon season is gone through 2009 out here, and they closed the rock fish fishery this year too. Now all you can really hope to fish for is Albacore, which might as well be as far out as China, and Squid. We can pull in Leopards from the shore, but I haven't had much success preparing them for consumption. Of course freshwater fishing is always available, if you ignore the serious warnings about high mercury in our streams and lakes.

Caught 3 Mako overall. Nowhere near 1st place, which was a whopping 405 lb. Mako!

That's me pulling in one of the three. He wasn't an overall huge fish but I brought him all of the way with the exception of landing him in the boat, so I'm proud of that.

Beautiful weather, perfect seas, but the fish weren't cooperating.

Three hits the entire day. One Mako pup, and this one, which we approximated around 150 lbs, which would have qualified for the tournament, but we heard chatter from other boats that bigger ones had been caught, so we let this guy go to swim again another day.

Winning Mako was 380 lbs!!! Monster fish.


Also caught one lousy bluefish. Three hits, three fish. I'll be going again next month and hopefully make up with a better day of fishing.
