I can't tell if that is Sylvia Plath or not. I think it is but I can't find a photo that leaves not doubt.

Like TJ, I'm thinking Spillane on top second from right but if that is a real picture from the 50's/early '60's I think he would look younger than he does there.
& I'm pretty sure the '50's dame on the bottom isn't Plath or Harper Lee. I'm going to spend the rest of the afternoon trying to figure this out. Damn you Boondock Saint!

I finally remembered that I got the picture from a NY Times article and found the answers:
Clockwiswe from top left: Hunter S. Thompson, Patti Smith, Mickey Spillane, Charles Bukowski, Jack Kerouac, Grace Paley, Norman Mailer, Henry Miller .
Here's the article if you want to read it:
'The Outlaw Bible of American Literature': The Rebel Establishment (http://www.nytimes.com/2005/04/17/books/review/17COVERGATES.html?ex=1181966400&en=5f52503797dbc6a8&ei=5070)

It was from a NY Times Book Review for ''The Outlaw Bible of American Literature''
The writers pictured are supposed to be outlaws. I linked the article a few posts up if you want to read it.

Really? I thought it was Burroughs.
Burroughs was always thin as a rail.
