Soundboard Fez Beta looking for testers

I am looking for some people to take a look at the project I have been working on. I figure it might work in a pinch if Fez needs another stent. I have been working on this for a while. Probably could keep working on it, but I really wanted to get some opinions.

Cool thanks. I have been real picky when releasing this as I wanted everything to be right, but its pretty close to being ready and I couldn't sit on it forever. Let me know if you have any questions as the instructions I put together are pretty lacking.

A few things to note:

To add new sounds change the top tab from play to edit. This only works once you have selected a board
Sentences are automatically saved as you edit them, so they will be avaiable next time you return to the board. This only works if you are registered.
The tabs on the bottom right of the player are add, ISay, and USay.
The ISay tab is where all the sentences you create go. Note, as you create them, you can edit them again by going to this view and clicking on the edit icon at the right side of each line.
The USay tab is sentences I add. Eventually it will become the top played sentences and I will credit the creator, but for now, it is just ones I create
When going back to the New tab, you will notice that anything you were working on is now gone. You can get back to editing a sentence by going to ISay and clicking the edit icon as mentioned above.

The software is great, but the sound bytes are a little rough. A lot of them have clicks and pops at the end and I think you need to normalize all of them. I've always used Sound Forge for these types of things, but it has been a really long time. There may be something bigger and better out there now.

Awesome idea and execution otherwise though.

Thanks for the feedback so far. I focused more on the system and less on the sound quality. I do think the samples were that bad. I used sound forge. It is sometime difficult to select individual words. Especially with Fez, once you break down his speech, you realize how much he slurrs his words. It might be a Florida thing or something else perhaps? Ron articulates much better, but I haven't added that many sounds for him yet. I think Borat is the best as his speech is already pretty broken up. It sounds pretty natural in my opinion. Although I know some of the levels are even off there.

I will see if I can do a bulk normalization on all the words and also I will see about removing or replacing the words you have pointed out.

If you have any sounds or better versions of sounds that I already have, please, please upload them. I have it all set up to accept uploads. You can even put the same word in, just put (2) or something after the name. If it is better I will delete the old one. You can upload in any format. I also plan to make normalization automatic, but if you can, for now, normalize to around 75%

I appreciate the positive comments, I have a bunch of things I want to add still, but it all takes time. Recently I have fixed up the way words and sentences are loaded. There should be no gaps between words now. All the sounds will be preloaded. I have added an indicator to show that the word(s) are loading. What would you like to see added or fixed in the short term?


Allow user created boards
Get categories working
Simplified player for boards with < 50 sounds
Ability to share sentences


Got a lot of other things I am thinking of.
