I've been wearing glasses since I was 11 years old. My prescription hasn't changed since I'm 13. Lately, though, I could swear that my eyesight is improving. I'm not kidding.

When I get home I take my contacts out and only put my glasses on to watch TV. I don't need them for reading or anything up close. It seems like I can see pretty damn well lately when I don't have my glasses on though.

Is it possible for your eyes to "fix" themselves?

It's only been a year since my last exam, but I'm telling you...I could swear I'm seeing better. And I rarely eat vegetables.

my mom's actually improved this year. she's worn glasses forever and they usually get a little worse every year. for some reason, this year her eyesight improved. who knows why, but it happens.

Yep, myopia/hyperopia/astigmitism is about focus and the shape of the eye, and that shape, as people age, can change such that vision improves.

Sadly, for this myopic, it has not happened. Yet.

GVAC, have you changed your diet lately? If you have changed and lowered your blood sugar of late, that may improve your eyesight but I'm not sure that's great. I think it can give your eyes permanent damage. Are you diabetic?
