XM is celebrating Black Music Month (http://www.xmradio.com/onxm/features/bmm.xmc).
To me, this concept just points out a severe hypocrisy in the decisions of the XM executives. That anyone still thinks it is OK to single out art/music/poetry/opinions BY SKIN COLOR, is outrageous. Especially when they've decided to portray themselves recently as a forum where racially sensitive topics are taboo. It's not like they're advertising "African American" music, or "urban" music, or another cultural community, they're clearly talking about music made by people who have "black" skin only.
It doesn't mean the music won't be good. It doesn't mean that it's not a good idea to highlight the music of underrepresented people.
It does mean that XM isn't as progressive and open-minded as they think.
