How do you prefer to lose? Would you like your team to be bad the whole year and never have a chance at the playoffs or lose in the finals? Would like to lose in the first round to some team that doesn't win it all or lose to the team that wins the championship? Would like to make it in the playoffs last day of the year and lose the first round or just miss the playoffs by one game? Basically do you want to lose right away or have your team lose at the last possible moment?

I feel better if my team loses to the team that becomes the champs. Even if its in the first round I feel like at least we lost to the best. That way I can kinda think, we were the second best team. On the other hand if you lose to the champs you can feel like oh shit we were so close. I know this is alot of questions but how do you like to lose?

I like for my teams to Make the Playoffs, thats makes it a Sucessfull Year for any Team , cept the greedy Yanks. Was Happy with the Rangers in Hockey, they diddnt win it all , but they had a good showing this year. The same could be said about your Isles

See in that example I would feel better if they lost to Buffalo and then Buffalo won it all. Now its like they lost to the 3rd best team instead of the best team.

I hear ya, you want the team who beat ya to be the champs, I personally want the team who Beat My Team to Lose Badly. Fuck them, they ruined our chances

i can kinda see both points here but it depends on perspective

in the beginning of the season i would say hell no i want them to do the best they can and make the playoffs no matter what, cause you never know what may happen once a team makes the playoffs

but once they're eliminated from the post season or even post season contention i would prob say i wish they were just shit all year, at least my heart wouldnt be ripped out and we would have a better draft pick

After the nut-crushing pain of watching my Red Sox fuck up in 1975, 1978, 1986, 1990, 1999, and 2003, I'd say it hurts a lot less when they're out of contention that to watch them squander a chance for winning.

But then I look at my Celts fall from dynastic title runs in the 80s to hoping for the bounce of a ping pong ball for a draft pick. THAT hurts too.

Last Year when the Oilers lost the Cup I was so devastated. It carried over to this year and made it seem as though their shitty season wasn't as bad.

On one hand the Oilers never got my hopes up this year, I had no expectations... On the other hand, I didn't have the excitement that I had when they went to the final.

Even though it took a year to get over the loss, I'd take the loss in the final over a shitty season anytime. The ride of getting there is what makes the memories.
