I have been listening to this album for 10 days straight so I wanted to see how many of you have heard the album. Pepper played a song off of it called "No Pussy Blues" a couple weeks ago and it stuck in my head for days after. Thanks to Badinia for identifying the name of the album in the listening thread that day. I've always enjoyed Nick Cave's work and this album is another gem. What do you all that have heard the album think of it?

I like it a lot. There's a bit of "From Her to Eternity"-era Bad Seeds, and even a smidgeon of The Birthday Party in there. When Nocturama was released, I was dissapointed and worried about Nick Cave's direction. I enjoyed the double album that came out next, and now with Grinderman, I'm not worried anymore. Also, Cave's success with the film "The Proposition" hopefully means that we will see more writing from him in the future.

I guess not alot of RF.net'ers are into this album. Anybody else enjoy/hate this album? I would reccomend it to any Nick Cave fan or music fan in general.

They're going to play three completely unexpected shows in the States; 2 in Frisco and 1 in NYC. I'll be going to one of the Frisco shows. Maybe Earl could get Nick Cave in for an interview?

Grinderman is a hard and dirty ass rape squelch of love without lube. And it's hilarious. It could easily have been called "Stagger Lee II: Bat Out Of Pussy." Filthy and visceral, like an audio vivisection. Cunt, cunt, cunt, genius! The low end ghost of Tracy Pew is risen for a drive-by slug fuck. OUCH! YUM! MARRY ME DEAD GIRL! GOODNIGHT!...now I have to go buy Rufus Wainwright tickets...

I love it. Obviously I can't top Deep's review, he's a professional. It sounds like a recording of Nick Cave's midlife crisis to me.
