Did it get wet or magnetized somehow? It sounds like a short somewhere.

If you use it for web surfing, there are viruses out there.

What kind of phone and what cell service do you have?

didn't get wet to my knowledge, and i can't think of anything that would have magnetized it.

its a LG VX8100 through verizon.

i also do not do any web surfing on it.

It's just Big Brother tapping your phone. No need to worry.

Get out of the house. The Feds are coming.

No, but a tin foil phone might solve your problems.

Can't hurt.

In all seriousness, your battery is somehow overcharged or you have a short somewhere.

Pull the battery out while the phone is on to reset it. Put it back in and turn it on.

If the problem persists, I'd go to a Verizon dealer tomorrow morning.
