Is anybody else trying out the Netscape 9 beta (http://browser.netscape.com/)?

I'm kinda digging it so far, it looks much cleaner then the version I tried when I was on my pc a few years back, i think it was version 7. Way too much silver plating.

So far My only complaint is that when i click a link that opens a new tab, it always opens up under my current tab instead of over it as is the default behavior of Firefox. Maybe I can tweak it a bit.

I've had no crashes running the Netscape beta under OS X and this board seems to have no hiccups so far. Not sure I will totally switch, I'm fairly content with Firefox. I did read that this version of netscape supports Firefox extensions designed for FF2 so, that is a plus.

*donk*

Coming soon: 8-Track Beta.

I think i've switched back to Firefox already.

And I remember 8-track tapes. I used to have a jackson 5 and a Kiss 8-track like when I was a kid. Maybe that's why i have such a weird taste in music...

But anyhow, ya, nothing all that special about Netscape 9 unless you like their "digg" style page, because you get some integration by being able to share whatever page you are on by clickin a button in the address bar.

In closing, FFFTW (FireFox For The Win)

When are Mosaic & Lynx coming out with new versions?

I've found SeaMonkey (http://www.mozilla.org/projects/seamonkey/) to be better than Netscape ever was. It's basically the exact same thing, with built in mail, composer, etc. but without all the problems and AOL clutter of Netscape.

Give it a shot.

It's available for Windows, OS X, and Linux.

So far since switching to Mac, I've tried Camino, Opera, Seamonkey, Safari, Firefox, Flock and Netscape. I keep coming back to Firefox. I like Safari and Camino, and would def. try Camino again because it ran really fast (plus i heard they released an update recently).

I didn't get into Seamonkey, I can't remember why. Flock was cool for some of it's weird features, but I didn't feel was as good as Firefox.

Too many choices...

I do want to throw out props to the site admins because rf.net 2.0 runs so much better now on alternate browsers, which is one of the reasons I tried so many different browsers last year :)

i never really liked Safari. too many sites weren't fully supported

As a fellow Mac guy, I use Camino and SeaMonkey almost exclusively.

I like Firefox, but there seems to be too many issues with it.

Camino has a few, but whatever it can't handle site-wise, SeaMonkey can.

Opera is a very fast, lightweight Windows browser. If I weren't addicted to my Firefox extensions, I'd probably make the switch.

Supposedly Firefox 3 for the Mac is going to be greatly improved, and will be more consistent with the OSX look and feel.

Now I can add 1 more to the list... I bought Parallels 3.0 (http://www.parallels.com/en/products/desktop/) earlier today, so now I can run Internet Explorer 6 without rebooting (no, i don't know why i need that.). And in "Coherence" mode you can run (most) windows apps without booting windows (you can even make desktop shortcuts from the look of it). So far I've gotten Quake 2 running which is cool.
I'm hoping this comes in handy if I ever fix my website ;)

Firefox 3 sounds pretty good so far. I hear they are considering tying a feature in with googles malware site list, so that if people mistype a URL or whatever they won't get all infected with crap.
