Just got home from Morimoto. 4 people, 6 apps, 4 entree, 2 desserts for less than 4 bills. I was very happy.

My main orders were 10 hour pork in congee for app and Duck, Duck, Duck (Duck Breast on Foie Gras Croissant, Duck Leg and Duck egg with Red Miso and Port Reduction) for the entree.

Also, the restaurant is gorgeous. I LOVE an open kitchen.

I made some chicken chili tonight. After two Sierra Nevada Torpedo's, I decided to try cornbread dumplings in the chili. It turned out more like a layer of cornbread pudding, but it's not that bad. I think next time I will not use just a straight corn bread recipe, and instead use a dumpling recipe but replace the flour with at least 1/4 corn meal and add some honey.

I think we put them in a teriyaki marinade. This is the standard marinade i use for chicken and flank steak:

1 cup oil
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup soy sauce
2 T cider vinegar
2 T dried onion flakes
2 t dried ginger
4 cloves garlic pressed
