Some of the new features they've added recently to tivo look cool, I see they have a break.com tivocast now, but all the screens go slow as hell on the new features (usually the blue and purple backgrounds) All the old screens (green and orange backgrounds) work fine. Anyone else with this problem?

I have had tivo for 4 years and have no idea about these features you speak of? I record shows by programing or by pressing record. I pause shows etc. What is this break.com thing and how do I find it on my tivo? What else am I missing that I must be paying for?

As for tivo being slow, I have noticed chaging the channel or pressing certain buttons it does seem to be slower. I now have my tivo hooked directly tro myu tv with just cable running through it (no comcast box). When I had it running through the comcast box then the tivo then tv, it was so slow. It sucks because I dont have acces to all the digital cables stations on this tv. Has anyone else had that problem with tivo hooked up to a digital cable box then your tv?

You need a series 2 tivo thats hooked up to a broadband connection for all the new features. You can copy shows to your computer, schedule recordings online, download shows to your tivo, play music, all sorts of shit.

I have no idea how Tivo works. I have DVR through my cable company.
It sounds real interesting though. How much is it a month?

Can be wireless, yes. Tivo makes a wireless usb thingy, or you can use a DLink one.

Wow your first post was in response to my dumb tivo thread? Im honored. My mom has DVR through her cable company, Ive had tivo for like 5 years now, like it a lot better. Also had a replaytv, that shit the bed real quick. Tivo always has deals around christmas time pay for a year of service get a free box. They make HD ones now, and if you get one, I'd go with the dual tuner. 15-20 bucks a month I forget...

Yeah, my DVR has a dual tuner.
I pay $8.95 a month for mine. Is there a huge difference between the two?

Downloaded a 3rd party program called Galleon, lets you watch downloaded videos on your PC from your tivo, listen to music, check email, podcasts, and even view what's on your computer screen. Can watch all the videos I downloaded with bittorrents now over tivo. Have to convert them first with a program called Videora. Both programs are free. Works great.

Galleon - Server Program (http://galleon.tv/content/view/96/57/)
Videora - Video Conversion Program (http://www.videora.com/en-us/Converter/TiVo/)

There's also a way to broadcast your own shows over tivo, you upload your video somewhere, and give people you know your channel number, and others can get a season pass to all videos you upload.

Yes, with a series 2, they don't need to be connected, just both on the same network.
