Today on the show Pitzy said he doesn't like jar or bottle ketchup cause it might have had a licked knife inside of it from the previous customer. When do people lick a knife? When I eat I cut with a knife and usually pick things up with my fork. Sometimes the knife comes into contact with the knife but not often. Most times the two don't hit together. I never ever actually lick the knife. I think most knives have less germs on them then forks or spoons. Do you ever put your knife near your mouth?

No. Also, I do not use the knife to get the ketchup out of the bottle.

I never lick a knife in a restaurant. I do however lick the knife if I'm making a sandwich, or things of that nature, at home. There is always some residual peanut butter on the knife that shouldn't go to waste.

The knife is for cutting the chorizzo. Period.
If you are putting ketchup on it, I will hunt you down and kill you.
We have a few long-handle Chimichurri spoons.
Use that for anything else, and die!

I'll lick a knife, but i never stick a knife into a ketchup bottle, and i definitely don't lick a knife and then stick it in a ketchup bottle. once your lips touch a utensil, it's for use on your food only (nothing shared).

Just want to chime in and agree with everyone so far.
I would never stick a knife in anything communal after I used it on my food and ESPECIALLY put it in my mouth.
Anyway, if you want ketchup, you strike the side of the neck while it's upside down. It's worked for me for years now, try it.

easiest way to get the ketchup flowing: close the bottle and give it a vigorous end-over-end shake.
sadly, tapping the bottom of the bottle or tapping on the 57 has left me many a stained shirt in the past.

Just a head's up, Clint.
If someone throws a hanging curve, sometimes it is OK to take.

I bought a hand made damascus steel knife from this guy whose family has been making knives for atleast a hundred years. And he told me, a good way to clean a knife is by licking it. He said the oils or whatever is in the saliva keeps the knife in good condition.
I thought that was crazy, but I figured I would pass that info along.
