I just returned from San Francisco last week and got to see the oldest known pair of Levi's (1870's) first hand. I've been working for Levi Strauss & Co. for about 8 years now and had the opportunity to take the heritage tour for the second time. The most recent aquisition is a pair of button fly "XX" with the leather patch still legible and intact. They were located in a Nevada mine shaft recently and are worth about 125K. The miners would wear their street clothes to work and change into Levi's while at work.

damn, can't believe they ever discontinuted those awesome red jeans the kid had at the end of the commercial.

Quick question for those who were old enoug to remember the 70's.

Did they just pump LSD into the public water supply or something?

Ha! Thanks James. Is that the greatest commercial ever or what? Damn good song, too. I'm trying to get Crankcase to cover it.

The 70's were a magical time, Moe. I truly feel sorry for anyone not old enough to remember them. Even our Saturday morning shows were like an acid trip.

Oh man, the 70's ruled. I had a pair of red Levi cords that turned pink after too many washings. But I still wore 'em. My wife recently saw a picture of me in those pants circa 1978 and she culdn't stop laughing.

i only wear levis but not the buttondown front. you get less room in the crotch for some reason? i loved a 70's levi commercial. the song was goofy and went like

" levis haw haw, levis hee hee, I'm wearing my lee hee hee a levis " and a guy is moving around in snapshots on the street and sidewalk and scales a fire hydrant

Hey Funk,it just shows you didn't smoke, snort and drop your memory away in the 70's. Don't feel bad.

That fucking commercial is as close as I ever want to get to tripping personally.

Insane.

Whoever the ad exec is that approved that ad, he should be slapped in the mouth.

Now that you've been to the famous Levi's museum, are you wise in the ways of whiskering?

I thought it was because he refuses to wear pants.
