This looks great actually. Hopefully it won't have a hero system and upkeep to drastically limit how many units you can have on the field.

I heard that it was going to be another MMORPG, so I'm really happy to see it's an actual RTS. First and foremost, Blizzard's an RTS company, and I'm glad to see them return to their roots.

I still play Starcraft, friend and I just had a match last weekend.

I sure hope they make this one as awesome as the first. Can't wait to play, especially since I just built my new computer.

Scrapped. I think they decided the game sucked ass and killed the project, much like they did with that scroll-n-click story book game 'warcraft adventures'. They'll probably incorporate characters and storyline from Ghost into starcraft 2, just like they put characters from W:A into Warcraft III.

They may still make the game, but I get the impression that if it's not been scrapped, it's going to be on the shelf indefinitely. I'm frankly glad they scrapped it. I wanted Blizzard to return to its glorious RTS days, pre-War III. Hopefully they won't fuck it up and turn it into a FPS/RPG with tiny little armies that can only support 5 standard units at a time.

This game's not gonna be out until about oh, 2009, 2010 at the earliest. If it's earlier than that, I'd be very impressed with Blizzard.

I'm with LordJezo - I still play the original Startcraft, almost a decade later. In my mind, it's the best PC game ever made. They have quite a bit to live up to here.

That pic of the Zerg rush is my new desktop. From the first screen shots it looks like the original with nicer graphics but I'm sure they're going to pull out all the stops. I can't think of another company that is as consistant as Blizard.

fuckin a, so they got the look right and the gameplay seems spot on, nice finish with the tri-nuke. im glad they didn't mess with the scale, a la warcraft 3. this is one that sounds awesome, i defintely logged more hours into starcraft at friends houses than any other game. ill retire to the nerdery and bide my time

p.s. love the 'nuke cola' advertisement in some of the pictures, ill assume thats a nice tip o' the hat to fallout

I hope they don't completely do all the things wrong with Starcraft 2 that they did with Warcraft 3. The scale might be fucked with still, this game's got a good 3 or 4 years to make, lots can happen and change in that time.

If their chief writer is still Chris Metzen, then the storyline is most likely going to suck some serious ass. Just like War3's did. He's good at drawing, but writing is not his forte.

And while I personally hated upkeep, every fucking magazine and fellow gamer loved it and will probably want to see it implemented in this upcoming game.

These aren't even beta shots. It could just become a MMORPG for all we know.
