I don't want join any more forums, so I just ask all my questions here. Anyone ever use a car stereo head unit with a USB input port? Any idea if a usb powered hard drive (160 gig) would work with it? Ive read that some don't read folder names like mp3 cd head units do. Anyone have / tried any of these?

Most new 07 models will. Take your device to the store and plug it in, thats the only real way to test it.

once again bob is correct. A lot of newer head units have this ability, but it is not 100%. you really need to try your specific hardware on the headunit

the head unit may not be able to read such a large media surface, if you can follow me.
again, as jpm said, test your stuff out on the specific head unit with the specific media drive you will use.

Was hoping to pick one up online at crutchfield, but I guess Ill try to find the same model in store somewhere. Yeah I had a similar problem with my mp3 player when I tried to put a 4gb card into it, I guess my player can only use the FAT format. Thanks for the help
