Just did some math to calculate how much bandwidth I use on a typical day when listening to XM Online.
Get in at 9AM EST listen to O&A XM till noon, the B-B-Boys till 3, and O&A replay till 5.
That's 8 hours of streaming at 32k/sec.
32k x 60 = 1920k % 1024 = 1.875 MB/min
1920k x 60 = 115200k % 1024 = 112.5 MB/Hour
115200 x 8 = 921600k % 1024 = 900 MB/day
Now if you choose to stream at 64k that works out to 1.8 Gigabytes a day. That's like downloading a whole DVD every 2 days at work.
Thats why I go with the 32k option, technically we're not allowed to stream music at werk so I try to not push the envelope. Plus I'm listening to talk only so qual is not much an issue.
