Thank you so much to EVERYONE who turned out for the PEOPLE AGAINST CENSORSHIP rally on Saturday. We had somewhere between 200 and 300 of us out there throughout the day, and we really reached a lot of people. We were there to raise awareness and get new members and we have signed up at least 400 new people as a result.

Congratulate yourselves, you all did an amazing job of handing out flyers, and talking to people about the issues. There are so many people to thank that I don't even know where to begin. EVERYONE who showed up contributed in a HUGE way from those who ran to make copies of flyers and get clipboards to those who stood on the 'front line' signing up members and handing out flyers and very articulately explaining the issues.

Thank you so much to everyone and anyone who put personal issues and fights aside to do the right thing. Its truly a sign of good character. I would love it if we can get some names up of people who were there...I'll start a new thread with this info.

I forgot to mention-- special thanks to the members of the Ron and Fez show that supported us by coming down to the rally. East Side Dave and Earl were there for the whole day, and Ron and his girl came out to lend support as well. They have once again shown why we love them SO much!!!!!

Obviously some of the other shows were in a position where they couldn't come out, but they were ALL there with us in spirit and all really appreciate everyone going out and standing up for free speech on radio.

ON ANOTHER NOTE

Unfortunately, our work is not done, and we still need lots of help.

I am looking for volunteers for the following-- please let me know if you are interested and have skills to contribute.

Board Members for PAC. Most importantly, we need someone with some experience with not for profits who can help us comply with govt regulations. We also need someone who can serve as our treasurer and be in charge of keeping records of our finances, as well as to assist in fundraising and determining what funds will be used for.

New Member Coordinators: People to focus on getting new members and connecting with other sites that may be able to assist us in this regard.

Writers. We need several good writers who can help create persuasive letters on behalf of PAC and also people who can write articles for the site to keep our members aware of our positions on various issues. We also need help issuing press releases.

Researches. People who can find and post relevant news articles on our site as well as people who can find and post contact information of those who we are targeting for letter writing campaigns.

Event Planning: people who can focus on when and where our events should be to be our most effective. if you have any experience organizing LARGE events in particular, we want to grow.

AMBASSADORS: We want people who can try to reach out to celebrities, particularly comics, musicians and filmmakers who should be supporting free speech. If we can get some names on board, it will help our cause. Convince them how important it is to stand up to this. WE NEED PEOPLE TO HEAD THIS CAMPAIGN AS WELL AS VOLUNTEERS TO DO THE LEGWORK.

SPONSORS: Similarly, we need someone with skills who might be able to approach corporations who should support free speech to back us and sponsor us. Bookstores and music stores are a good start-- anyone who might be threatened by the encroachments on Free Speech.

SOMEONE TO COORDINATE WITH OTHER RADIO SHOWS: We need someone who will take charge of the task of reaching out to other shows and their fans-- making lists of other shows that might be affected, getting their staff and their fans on board, and getting the word about PAC out on the air with them. Get their fans to sign up. Get their hosts to publically support PAC and allow us to print on our site that they are proud members of PAC.

Most of these tasks can be done from ANYWHERE in the country, as they require a computer and/or a phone. Join up!

We have big plans for this organization! Please PM me or post if you can help in any of these capacities.

HTG knows her stuff.

I'd really love to volunteer but my schedule is insane with work and school right now. Once my classes are done in June, I should be able to jump aboard in some capacity.

I work most days for unpredictably long hours (that's why I can listen longer, lol!), but I definitely love the work you guys are doing. If anything, I can offer moral support and word of mouth to maybe recruit others.
