Did you all say "Happy Mother's Day to you Mommies?"
But seriously, I haven't seen much going on this past week or this weekend to really go off on. A few people are going off on Sen. Obama for his 10,000 people died misstatement and others are teasing the President for his 1776 remark.
So I wanted to float this out to you all to see if there are LOCAL issues you are dealing with that may warrant national attention, or may go national, like the thread regarding NJ's upcoming ban on texting while driving.
But if Current Events means a weekend of "all is well," well that's just fine with me.
Happy Mother's Day to all you moms-See you on 202 Monday at noon.

And it involves the East Coast. Anyone else's papers or local news reporting on this?
It seems that seals are dying rapidly. I included the link:

If you really have nothing to say, How about not saying anything?
Whore.
Sure, I'll play along. Here's a story that is chapping my fanny.
Some background. Wisconsin is traditionally a blue state that gives it's fair share of Republicans a shot as long as they come in a nice package. This year (like in many other states), the Democratic Party made huge gains in many state offices. J.B. Van Hollen, a Republican, was the only Republican to win a statewide office as he was elected as Wisconsin's first Republican Attorney General in 20+ years. He ran on a campaign on "tough on crime" as there is a backlog of cases in the state office.
So this weekend at the statewide Republican convention, Van Hollen runs off at the mouth that the Republican Party is the "party of God". Now of course, even moderate Republicans are super-pissed that he waited until now to be playing the crazy God card a full six months after the election. Link to story here. Now I'm a liberal guy, but does God have any business in an elected office? Especially that of an attorney general that is supposed to be answering to the law of the land.

Here's something that's been pissing me off: the state legislature of Missouri has recently (in March, I think) overurned a stem cell initiative passed last November. The initiative was voted on and passed by the people, yet a few legislators at the behest of special interest groups overturned it, and they were only able to acheive it by voting when the cheif opponent to the overturning was out of town. They overturned it on the grounds that the language on the ballot was misleading; however, I read the initiative long before voting on it and fully researched the issues surrounding it and was not misled, and can only believe the other people who voted did the same (though they probably did not). Just pisses me off that a small group of people can override the will of the state's voters, and serves as another example of how democracy is long dead, and it's rotting carcass has since been dug-up and fucked and had it's grave plundered of all valuables.

No.
I think I would probably vote for God, but he would have to back off a lot from his policy of "His will be done" to make him a viable candidate. Other than that, I think he'd do a pretty good job. Being infallible does tend to look good on a resume regardless of party affiliation.

Vote for God? No way. look at his track record: he lied to adam and eve about the apple, sodam and gomara? please, he turned that place into a shit hole. look how he handled the flood, he left some nut to be the man on point and that drunk fuck left all the cool animals behind. Plus, the whole reason for the flood was means to clean his slate of any past mistakes. plus, Satan? hi, you cast him out of heaven to create your own enemy? "keep your friends close and your enemies closer."

And in other news, the kid next to me told me that Cambodian ladyboys don't smoke cigarettes and that the ladyboys in Thailand are better looking.

Alright Alright! I suck at starting threads. I GET IT! But just out of curiosity, I heard Thai ladyboys go all out with the boyfreind/girlfreind acting. Is that true, and if so, how much?

Any thread that gives me a chance to quote Ron Burgundy is a good thread.
As for the ladyboy question, (which, I'm sure is merely a matter of curiosity. I'm sure.), Ill post my take on the women in Thailand who make themselves available to western men in Yerdaddy of Arabia (http://www.ronfez.net/forums/showthread.php?t=43171&page=8&highlight=arabia).

Someone from here just went on a wild ride at Virginia Tech. At least she didn't kill anyone.
Driver swerves into crowd, injures eight (http://www.dailypress.com/news/local/virginia/dp-va--eightinjured0617jun17,0,6196295.story?coll=dp-headlines-virginia)
Bowen was not injured, Bradbery said. A breath test indicated that her blood-alcohol content was 0.20 shortly after the crash, he said. The legal limit is 0.08.
2.0... She was pretty shitfaced!

Hmmmm. A thread about nothing, eh?
I knew some chaps in high school who weren't recognized as being cool trendsetters like others were. These guys formed "The Nobody Club."
No one knew just how many were in The Nobody Club and occasionally the Nobodies would get together in the middle of nowhere and do nothing.

This was on the top fold on the FRONT PAGE of our paper today. I think I'd have to kill someone if a pic like that of me, was put in newspaper boxes all over town and sent to thousands of homes!
