Today I was at the pizza place by my house getting a salad and a slice. This kid walks in and asks "How much is a taco slice ?" It was 3.50. Then he asks "Do you take America Express?" I grew up with cash and always use cash. I avoid credit and debit cards at all costs. I know cash is slowly fading away. Whats the cheapest thing you ever put on your credit card?

the fact is it is ezier, faster, and mostly safer to use your card for places that accept it so you can save your cash for places that don't

probably under $2 bucks. debit's faster than cash a lot of the time, anyways. i am very old-school, but the debit card is so much easier than cash. move on.

I use my debit card for my coffee @ 7-11 (less than $2) every morning. I never have cash on me anymore. It's just easier to swipe, especially now that they have the self serve terminals.
I've also used them at soda machines at the rest stops on the turnpike

i wouldnt think it would
theres been a few times though that i would walk up to the counter and only have like 3 bucks worth or less and they wont run the card unless i spend at least 5 bucks
what the fuck is up with that ???
i mean i know why but some places do it and not all ???

probably has to do with credit card fees. hell, the best places don't take credit cards at all, because they can get away with being cash only. peter luger is the only place that i can come up with now, but i know of a few others.

cost$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
since cc companies charge merchants for charging it could be cheaper for the store to decline you service than to ring you up
that is why your bank probably wants you to use your debit as a credit, cuz they make a lot more money. that is also why a typical debit terminal automatically asks for your pin, to discourage you from doing credit

I have the PayPal Mastercard. Its basically a debit card That uses backup funding from my checking account if the PayPal balance is too low to cover a purchase. The cool thing is that you get 1% cash back on all purchases. I use it for almost everything, large or small. Nowadays it takes 30 seconds to pay with a card since you don't even have to sign if its under $25.00.

Dont get me started. There's a paisan right off the boat in the East Villiage who serves that shit. I feel like calling the INS on that WOP.
BTW-Speaking of the East Villiage, for anyone with Sicilian roots who's Nana made pizza for you, may I recommend Five Roses Pizza. 1st av around 10th street. Very old store, old sign, old decor. Its not by any means the best pizza around, but its exactly the way my Nana used to make it. So I absolutely love it.

It's against their merchant agreement to require a minimum charge. I used to work for MasterCard and stores like that got reported and fined all the time. To accept credit cards, they must be treated the same way as cash.
