Ok here's my weekend rundown...I ain't kiddin' you, some of it aint pretty.
Saturday....
No breakfast, but I did have some coffee and a water on my way up to see Amy. For lunch we went to Houlihan's. We had the spinach dip, and I had a veggie burger for lunch, and a few french fries, a french onion soup, plus unsweetened iced tea. For dinner, we had sliced deli turkey and muenster on 12 grain bread. We also split a Lean Cuisine veggie personal pizza, some fruit salad, and oranges and a strawberry sherbet.
Sunday...
For breakfast - a cheese omelet and some whole wheat toast with coffee. Mid day I got hungry so we went to Panera Bread where I got a chicken and spring vegetable soup with rice and a fruit cup. For dinner we went to Carrabas - we had Bruschetta which included tomatoes sliced with fresh mozzarella over grilled toast with olive oil, it was REALLY good. The main course was chicken parmigiana with penne, and a salad with vinaigrette. It was all very good.
I got me some new sneakers and gear for working out and walking, plus I ordered a pedometer which I'm going to use to track my walking and jogging which I will get started doing this week

This is the pedometer I ordered, it had rave reviews on Amazon and many other sites I looked at. It comes with a usb cable and software to download your stats and monitor your progress. It is dramatically cheaper on ebay and Amazon than in the stores. I used to use one years ago when I dieted and it helped me to build personal goals and lose a lot of weight. What I like best is that you don't have to keep it clipped to you, you can keep it in your pocket and walk around with it all day, which is what I intend to do.
I also found a site that links up with Google maps for you to plug in distance information to help you draw out you walking paths. It's called Google Pedometer

Hallo Freunden.
This weekend was pretty good- Anthony Bourdain gave some tips when he was on the show that I heeded this weekend 'if you plan on going out for dinner, don't eat lunch.' Considering the size of most orders at restaurants, I think that's a really good plan.
Food: Fri night swordfish steak with caper butter, half a bagel sat morning, nature's valley pb bar for lunch, chx parm for dinner (i didn't eat a lot of it because it was god ass nasty... if you're ever in seattle, DO NOT GO TO CAFE AMORE (http://www.yelp.com/biz/-uakZ4lYPw4XkronPtBCLw)), Sunday morning breakfast: half a croissant (chocolate... eesh) and a lot of cheese (http://www.seattlecheesefestival.com/), no lunch, dry chicken masala with frejoles negro & cumin rice for dinner. Beer total for the weekend: 8 (really not bad).
Excersize: Walked all over the place on Saturday, scooter had a flat tire so I walked it down to the shop (about a mile away)... that was ridiculously hard to do, Sunday 40 minutes of ddr (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dance_Dance_Revolution)- trust me, it almost feels like you're not working out.
For all of y'all who are on the Fez-ebrity Fit Club group on http://www.fitwatch.com/fatpounders/ - When do you want to do the 'weekly weigh in?' I figure much in the weight watchers style, it's probably best to post all the changes (positive or negative) at one evening or timeframe just to keep consistent and to have something to 'work towards' so resetting won't be quite as hard.... any thoughts?
BTW, KHB, congrats on 14 lbs, you are obviously making great decisions.
Keep on keeping on...

I have a fat smash question for you guys if you can answer it.
I'm starting phase one and I'm not a big fan of drinking glasses of milk, do you think it would be OK to swap a glass of milk for 2 table spoons of sour cream?
Here is the nutritional info:
1% milk (1 cup) 13carbs, 2.5g fat, 110 calories
fat free sour cream (2 tbsp) 5 carbs, 0.4g fat, 30 calories
I'm putting together a recipe for some bad ass vegetarian chili and some sour cream would top it off nicely. 9 days away from throwing some cheese on that bitch. Booyah.

I appreciate the Kindness, but I think I just got the Unhealthy Water Weight Out, which is Easy, now it will be hard, once the body is used to dieting to lose more Weight. I had Grilled Chicken Plain on a Wheat Wrap Lunch, for early Dinner I will have a Salad with Balsamic Dressing and a Orange, with an Apple and Grapes for a 8pm Snack. Had a golf lession and did a lil walking, my thighs are in pain from workout video, I am not the workout type, so not a lot of exercise today

the one thing i learned from Amy is the amount of working out this diet has set for people, which i thought was way to much. 45 minutes a day in the 1st week is crazy esp. for someone who prolly has not been active in a few years.

Today I broke a cardinal rule...I skipped a meal, one of the big ones breakfast. I didn't do it on purpose but I didn't get a chance to get things yesterday, and then I ran late to work this morning so I had to scramble in. I had water and tea. For lunch I had a spinach salad which had roasted peppers, grilled chicken, half an avocado, carrots and fresh mozzarella, with balsamic vinagarette, and a bread stick. I also had an orange and Inko's Hint-O-Mint unsweetened iced tea, plus a hot Tazo Awake tea. For dinner I had sushi a California roll with brown rice, plus an orange, a blueberry yogurt, a small disk of light bonbel cheese, and some mango salad with water. When I got home I had two small pieces of grilled chicken, and I'm having coffee.
I also had someone give me a chocolate chip cookie at work which I had sit in front of me all day and I did nothing with it and finally dumped it. Fuck temptation!!! Fuck it in it's ear, fuck it in it's other ear!!

I want in too but I just cant seem to get "EYE OF THE TIGER". Im 6' and about 285lb or as I like to call it..A PAHT ASS! I think its mostly Baby Fat and Water Weight but Im not so sure since I just turned 42 last month. Truth of thematter is, the older you get the friggin harder it is to lose the poundage. I lost about 70lb about 7 years ago doing the Atkins diet but Im convinced that is a totally unhealthy diet to be on for the rest of your life. I developed Type II Diabetes shortly after going off that diet, I honestly believe it did something to my Insulin production by shutting down the carbs for the 6 months I was on it. When I started eating regular foods again, I couldnt digest anything without heartburn and WICKED gas! (PHEW!) If you need to lose 10 lbs for a wedding or something, Atkins is the BOMB, as a lifestyle adjustment, I dont reccomend it.
Somebody tell me how to get pysched to start walking again. When I mexercising and eating good I drop lbs pretty quick. Come on will ya, its almost bathing suit season and I picked up this awesome Borat number that Im jonesin to get into..Any advice..or is it. JUST DO IT?

This morning I had a raspberry no-fat yogurt...(Fairway has the Dannon's on sale 3 for .99¢ with a limit of 12...so I got 12 bitches!), a whole wheat bagel, water, and a tea. For lunch I decided to do the sushi again only this time I had vegetarian sushi which is just veggies with brown rice in a seaweed wrap, it was really good. I also had a mixed berry salad, an orange, and a sugar free citrus mint water. Plus a venti Tazo awake tea (hot) from Starbucks. For dinner I went back to Cosi and had the veggie muffaletta sandwich with baby carrots and oat nut bar with another orange, and unsweetened iced tea. Lastly I had a venti iced americano and water for the rest of the night.
Tonight I'm doing some weight training and abdominal exercises.

A few things:
1) If you havent' done so already, go to FITWATCH (http://www.fitwatch.com/fatpounders/)- It's a group weight diet tracker that keeps great stats for the group... It would be great if we could all sign up, track each others improvement and provide support and such. So if you haven't done so yet, go and sign up under the group "Fez-ebrity Fit Club"
2) These are the things that really get me by:
***Chicken Breast- White meat, low calories, high protien, keeps you from getting hungry
***Baby Carrots- I can plow through a pound of them and that will keep me from eating 'snacks' during the day
***WATER WATER WATER WATER - when you're hungry, drink 8 ounces of water, it will hold you off for a half hour
***Sometimes Coffee in the morning- if you're really hungry in the morning, have a cup of coffee before you dive into a calorie filled breakfast- It will fill you up really quickly and the caffeinne will help burn calories throughout the course of the day- I find when I drink coffee in the morning (4 ounces, black- it's not so much to enjoy it as it is to use it to your advantage... also I think a lot of people drink their coffee like a piece of cake, sugary & creamy... if sugar is a must, try splenda, if cream is a must, try skim milk- it won't taste the same but remember the end game...)
***On the topic of drinks, I'm not a soda drinker, but if you are I read that drinking diet instead of regular will take 2lbs off per week by itself. Don't know if it's true.
***Instant oatmeal in the morning- Fast, easy, high in protien & fiber, and delicious
***FreshExpress bagged caeser lite salad- I use about half the dressing (but all the croutons) and it's really good. I eat the whole thing. sometimes with a cut up chicken breast in it for lunch. Just think- all those calories for your huge caeser salad would amount to 1/3 the calories in a big mac.
***Orville Redenbacher 94% fat free popcorn- You can eat the entire bag for 105 calories. And the shit is good.
I find that I keep my portions the same- relatively large, but the content is thought out... lite caeser salad with half the dressing + chicken breast is a perfect example, you can fill yourself on it well without breaking the caloric bank.
FYI, I made a resolution to start losing weight I guess a little over a week ago and I'v elost 5.5 pounds. You can see it if you check out fitwatch (http://www.fitwatch.com/fatpounders/) and join up for the fez group :)
love & miss fezzy.

Well, I don't seem to be doing very well at all. I have lost nothing, but at least went to the gym a couple times in the last week. My problem is the food. I am out on the road for my job and running through that fast food place it what is killin me. I am a terrible cook, so I eat mostly weight watchers meals at home, most of which are terrible..Any ideas for good take along snacks or easy home meals? Something not pre-packaged and no carrots. Are almonds okay? I had some of the Blue Diamond jalepeno almonds yesterday and holy shit are they good..please tell me I can eat those :)

Since Fez needs to get on a program of healthy eating and working out I thought maybe we could help support him. This might be a good chance for us all to get our lives back on track. If we all eat the same and work out together maybe Fez will feel the support. Who's ready to help Fez and help themselves?
I am in too, hope I am not too late to this game. My weight is a sensitive issue with me, I have 30lbs to lose and cannot seem to make the first few pounds budge.
Here is my blog about my weight loss and exercise journey:http://mtbgirlnj.blogspot.com
Also, we could all join SparkPeople (http://www.sparkpeople.com) and start the Fez-ebrity Fit Club team online. Check it out, great site that helped me re-orient my compass so I can eat well and reclaim some sanity w/r/t my appetite (I am not plugging a pay service here, SparkPeople is completely free to join).
My stats:
Female, Age 31
Height: 5'6"
Weight: 160 lbs (as of this morning)
Bodyfat: 35.5% (as of this morning)
Exercise regime: Ride Like Hell 4 days a week on either road or mountain bike (usually a 20-30 mile road ride, 8-15 mile MTB ride), Run Like Hell 2 days a week (anywhere from 3-7 miles). Rest on Sunday (usually). I need to get my ass back in the weight room, too.
And I need to quit drinking - this is the biggest factor in my continued dwelling in the land of fat-asses. This is also difficult to do...

Eat Less, Move More. And quit drinking alcohol.
All easier said than done, I know. Except maybe the "move more" part for me, I am very active but I use that as an excuse to eat anything and everything I want to and I know I have to Stop Doing That.
I am biased toward the bike as a great form of exercise. Not everyone wants to run or is able to run, and walking can only take you so far - as you get fitter you need to get faster and walking just will not elevate the heart rate the way you need to for a true "Cardio" workout after you pass a certain point. Riding a bike can elevate your heart rate to the necessary levels, and if the bike fits you properly, will not stress your knees, back, or shoulders.
So if you cannot get motivated to walk again, go visit your local bike shop - NOT WALMART or TARGET but a Real Bike Shop That Only Sells Good Bikes (http://www.montclairbikery.com)and spend between $500 and $800 on a good hybrid bike, or drop some more coin to the tune of $1250 on a decent road bike and get out and ride. North Jersey has some fab roads for biking and you go farther and farther as you become fitter and faster. I went from fat-ass at 175lbs to a trim 140 in a year and rode my bike from Sandy Hook to Cape May in a day. I did it once, I will do it again (lose the weight and ride that far!) and SO CAN YOU, FLAV!!
Good luck everyone.

nothing bad will happen, but if you get serious about riding a lot, you begin to notice the bikes are heavy and generally do not "fit" you (meaning the way you reach the pedals, handlebars, angle of bend in your leg while pedaling). They can hurt after a while. Also, they tend to be made of lower grade steel and can rust easily, so it is important to store them properly and keep them clean, dry, and lubed (that goes for any bike but especially one prone to rust). If one is going to ride recreationally then Target has many fine bikes.
If riding for fitness and performance is something one thinks may become important later on, or if it a definite goal, it is best to go get properly fitted and spend some extra money on a bike that will last more than a few summers.
If you decide to get a bike run some by me, I have years of experience in this department. Check out Dick's Sporting goods if there is one near you for a nice selection of bikes and test many before you buy!

hey guys-I had a good/bad week. My daughter had croup so we were in the hospital- in and out, which made me really panicky-so I don't eat. We're home now, and on the mend, so I'm eating, but "comfort" eating really, because I don't want to eat. I'm a nervous nellie and when I'm nervous my weight goes down, down, down only to come back up, up, up.
We'll see where this goes. I've been reading all the posts. Sounds like everyone is very motivated and is seeing improvements.

well, for a 5'6" chick 175 is huge...but thanks for the nice comments. And be sure to pop in and update on your progress.
For me, eating was very good today - oatmeal, salad, grilled chicken, etc. all in the same healthy vein - about 1300 calories according to the software I use to track food.
Also rode 9.44 miles at 5.5 mph (avg) on the mtb tonight, on a rocky and hilly trail in central NJ that has made 40 year old men weep...Go me!

I've emailed fezzie about this during a previous breakdown but I've lost 130 lbs following no hardcore diet. The most important thing is to do some kind of exercise consistently- its important to recognize that persistence will make something that is difficult easier and eventually you will be exercising more vigorously because you are in better shape.
Concerning diet you need to be very honest with yourself- dont eat compulsively or out of boredom, dont buy food that you will be tempted to over eat or that you know is just awful for you. Increase things you enjoy, that are good for you, in your diet. Figuring out how many calories you are burning is really helpful- you lose all desire to eat something shitty when you put it in terms of how quickly it will negate the excercise you have done. Look at the health info on food before you eat it, think about serving sizes and what youre eating.

Hey KHB I've read through your other posts in this thread and it seems like you are making good progress. Don't worry about one day, especially a holiday! Eat a bun and drink a beer and get back up on the horse the next day. You are doing all the right things every other day of the week so a Memorial Day BBQ will not hurt you.
I face the same anxiety around special occasions, but I know I can get back to eating egg whites, oatmeal, lots of fruits and veggies and maybe get in a few extra miles both before and after the Event to off-set it.

Ok, buds, I want in.
I'd like to lose about 10-15lbs and improve my tone and endurance. I go to the gym 2-3 times a week (down from about 4 recently), but it only seems to maintain my current level, not improve. I eat decently well, but eat later at night than I should.
Just got a new road bike, so if I can do that without sacrificing the gym, I think I can reach my goals.

Don't know if I am down anything or not today since I am not home and do not have a scale. I think I am afraid to weigh-in anyway. This weekend was not so bad on the eating front, most of the food I ate was healthy, I just ate a lot of it. And I drank a lot of beer  which is a two-edged sword - fun to do, bad for diets.
Along the way this weekend I did another great mountain bike ride, a 5 mile run, and the peak of the weekend: a 24 mile road ride wherein I posted my fastest average speed ever. I rode a pace of 15.8 miles per hour over the course of 90 minutes. For me, that is an excellent speed. I hope to be back up to 18 or 19 mph averages by the end of summer. Dropping 30 pounds will certainly help get me there, less of me to push around on the road.
Hope everyone else had a great weekend. Get back up on that horse and keep the healthy habits going. Remember, weight loss is not rocket science - the equation is simple. EAT LESS, MOVE MORE!!
All the Best,
~ MB

Fezticle you can easily work road riding into your routine. Keep your gym workouts on weekdays, do 2 short rides of about 10-15 miles during the week at a fast pace, and reserve Saturday or Sunday for a longer ride, say 20 or 25 miles working up to 40 or more. Do not do a leg workout in the 2 or 3 days prior to your long ride, especially if you workout very heavy on the legs.
I don't know how much experience you have road riding, but like any activity you are either new to or to which you are returning, you should start slow to get a feel for it, then begin to up the ante with your training once you get your "legs."
Try to spin vs. hammer and your rides will be much more efficient. Use clipless pedals if you are comfortable with them, this facilitates spinning.
Get a bike computer with a rear-wheel speed and a cadence sensor - my Cateye Astrale has both and I bought it for less than $30. It's a great way to measure the length of your rides and the progress you are making with training.
You can ride those 10 to 15 lbs off by the end of July if you stick with it and watch your diet.
and one last thing, if you do not know them already, learn the rules of the road (http://www.bikeleague.org/resources/better/roadrules.php) when riding. Both drivers and cyclists have certain responsibilities on the road, and being aware of the times when you have right of way and when you must yield will probably be the #1 thing you can do to make your rides safe and productive.

I haven't posted my daily eats, but I have been sticking to this pretty strictly over the past week.
I've been doing well with the pedometer, doing better with it each day. It is amazing, I download my daily data into the program and watch the trends to see my progress. It's so smart that it calculates my steps, my aerobic steps, distance, fat and calories burned, which I can look at on a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly basis. I've modified it with personal goals so I can now see how I am in relation to the goal. Yesterday for the first time I hit over 10,000 steps and I feel great. My first goal was to hit 10,000 and do that regularly and then gradually move to 12,000, 15,000 etc.

I had walked about 3500 steps today at work, so afterward I really wanted to hit my daily goal of 10,000. I went to the university by work and walked the campus. I parked real far away and walked the grounds. I then had dinner which was veggie sushi, some fruit salad and water. I then went to Huntington and walked through the whole village, and then over to Hecksher Park which together brought me around 10,700 steps today. Not too shabby. I want to get in the rhythm of doing that consistently for a while.
For lunch I had spinach salad with grilled chicken, artichokes, tomatoes, an avacado, and mozzerella. Plus an apple salad with sliced green and red apples, and an unsweetened iced tea (Inko's Honeysuckle).
For breakfast I had raspberry no fat yogurt and some frosted strawberry mini-wheats (maybe 10 of those bad boys at the most!)
I'll do some abdominal excercises and free weights in a little while.

Uggh! I weighed in this morning at 164.8 lbs and 38% bodyfat according to my Tanita scale. I did not want to post that but I guess I have to keep myself honest...I think the 4 lb. gain is due in part to this being the time of the month, always before that happens I balloon up by as much as 6 lbs (goddamned water retention sucks). I think by next Monday I will be back down to 160 or below (fingers crossed).
I bought a food scale and measuring cups and spoons specifically for measuring portion sizes and started today with measuring everything. Breakfast was 1/2 cup sliced strawberries with 1/2 cup fat free plain yogurt and 1 tbsp ground flax seeds, along with 3 large egg whites, scrambled with a little cooking spray. And 1 mug of coffee, 2 large glasses of water.
Planning to ride long today then look for a new job.

I'm looking to drop the 20 lbs I've put on since I first met my husband two years ago. I want to snap myself back into the semi-attractive gal he fell in love with... ya know, before I wreck everything again by getting knocked up.
I'm currently on Day 5, Cycle 1, of the Extreme Fat Smash diet. I'm already feeling a huge difference, and my husband is noticing as well (he tried the diet with me, but gave up after day 1). The apartment reeks of steamed veggies, but aside from that it's going amazingly well for me; I haven't had the urge to stray once.
For the exercise, I'm putting in over an hour of DDR every day, along with some walking and my daily routine at work (my job is very physical and keeps me away from my desk 6 hours out of 8). I'm going to see if my employer has any kind of discount offers with the local gyms.

Hey there-you were super nice to me when I joined this board. Maybe I can return some of the "love". WW usually is excellent for men, I don't know why, but their system usually responds really well to the plan. I've done the flex plan twice (I know up and down...) and lost a lot both times. I even planned a day during the week where I splurged-drink, meal, dessert and ended up losing about 2 lbs. a week. The secret for me was water, water, water.
best of luck!

Stop weighing yourself. You should stick to what your doing and the weight will come off. If you keep weighing yourself you'll just make yourself feel bad and quit.

I have ways to go before tank top shape, I still look big , but others notic a difference, and do fit in some XLs which is nice. You'll lose the weight , once it starts I bet it goes fast

I think a great idea would be for the board to all run a race together. Make it a decent distance where people have to train but nothing to crazy so everyone can participate.
There are plenty of 5Ks, 5 milers, 8Ks, 10Ks, or 10 milers all year long in any metro area and of course in the NYC area.
A 5K is a great way to get beginners out there training and even the advanced can go out and sprint 3.1 miles and then have some beers.
I am in.

Thanks for the kind words Nicole! I'm doing the "Core Plan" and so far, so good. I'll let you know what happens at the next weigh-in.

Nice work everyone.
Three years ago I could dunk a basketball. Then I was in an accident and had my arm in a sling for 6 months and had to rehab it for another year and a half after that. Not moving for over two years can take it's toll on you. I don't weigh myself or anything like that, my only goal is to dunk again! Thanks for the inspiration/kick start guys.
Phase II is SO much better than phase I. I only cheated once the first phase and it was by accident. I had a can of vegetable soup and the picture looked like there was no pasta in it, but there was some. I didn't have any other food with me, so I just ate it. Eating better/exercising isn't hard to do once you get started. Though, phase II includes wine for me. Gotta have something to live for. Plus, I don't want to look like a total pansy when I go out on dates.
The only decent recipes I came up with for phase I were vegetarian chili, stir fry, and egg whites with peppers. Has anyone come up with anything better for phase II?

Stu, try food logging for 3-5 days, every single bite and sip that passes your lips, and take a closer look at how you are eating, when you are eating, and most importantly, how much.
I severely underestimated the portion sizes of the foods I was eating, and after I started measuring my food out in single-servings (based on the label recommendations for packaged foods) I was eating in a much lower calorie range and did not have the "overstuffed" feeling I used to get from food.
Be liberal in your intake of greens, veggies, and fruits. Watch the bananas. And watch the salad dressing!
Also, you may want to try walking an extra mile in each workout, or walking faster. Maybe look into getting a heart rate monitor so see how hard you are pushing yourself. Walking is easy exercise and great to get most people started, but the body rapidly adapts to this activity and you have to start pushing yourself harder, further, and/or faster to keep seeing results.
I know your work schedule is rough on you and your sleep cycles are all over the place. I've been there and it is very hard to keep up with a fitness and diet routine, but you can make it just that - a Routine. Get a calendar and put yourself on a schedule. Your workouts, your meals, your bedtime - plan everything for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks you more or less get in a pattern and begin to follow your "schedule" almost automatically.
Good luck and keep on going! Don't get discouraged it's just a stall - push in that clutch and get started again.

Excellent Tall_James!
I first tried Weight Watchers some 5 years ago after high school. I lost about 35lbs and have kept it off since.. give or take 5lbs. Whenever I feel myself gaining weight I use what they taught me to keep my weight in check. You are able to eat real food, it works and is imo the best "diet" plan for the long term.

Weighed in at the Weight Watchers meeting this morning. I only lost a pound this week. I am pissed off at myself because I know that when I went out with some buddies on Wednesday, I drank too much and hit a fast food joint on the way home. This contributed to the lower weight loss rate.
This anger will motivate me this week. As John Lydon once said...

Finally dropping in to update my progress, which is not much. The picnics of summer have offset my exercise, leaving me with a net loss of zero pounds, but gains in the fitness department.
Still tipping the scales at 160 lbs. This weekend Boyfriend and I cleaned out the kitchen, got rid of the junk food and replaced it with lots of healthy goodies. We both noticed our cycling has not been stellar this summer even though we train 4-5 times a week. We know it has a lot to do with how we are eating and drinking, so we made a pact with each other to encourage healthier habits. It helps to have another committed soul along for the ride.
Also, an update on what I will call the Footrace for FEZZIE: I signed up for the NJ Half Marathon on September 30, 2007! I am blogging my training HERE (http://www.mtbgirlnj.blogspot.com).
I figure training to run 13 miles over the next 14 weeks ought to be good for some weight loss. Anyone interested in running along with me, let me know!

As of last week, I am now the same size I was when I was a senior in high school... a size I haven't been in almost 13 years.
The dieting is really getting tough, and I will punch out my husband if he mentions pizza one more time. Brown rice, beans, and veggies are NOT my friends, and the last month and change has made me despise them even more. But I'm sticking to it as closely as I can.
I'm still going to try to get down another size or two... hopefully by the end of the summer I'll be "officially" thin.

Grand total so far: 24.8 lbs lost (I should have pissed in the parking lot right before my weigh-in so I could get to 25 lbs exactly but they kind of frown on that)

Weighed in at 158 today, down 2 lbs from last Wednesday. Good sign, things are going in the right direction. My eating has been spot-on healthy this week, lots of fruit and salad, no alcoholic beverages, and all snacks have been of the fresh fruit variety.
Ronnie and I went for a fab trail run on Sunday at Round Valley. I went out for a road ride on Wednesday and am going for another tonight, hoping to get 35+ miles. Should be good enough to offset my breakfast this morning, which was just about the best bagel sammich the world has ever known.
There is a place called Bagels-4-U in NJ. There are a few in the Central NJ area. I stopped by the one near me this morning for a toasted whole-wheat everything bagel with three egg whites and bacon. Flippin' yummy. They have the best coffee I have ever tasted, also.
Normally I would not eat bagels, but a whole wheat everything bagel...that is something special.

since my car accident, i gained 25 pounds and lost most of my muscle mass. I got approval to start cardio again a few months ago, and with that alone (and the h.pylori ordeal) have gone from 175lbs to 165lbs. (i'm 5'8" btw). I have started South Beach this morning (diabetics cannot do atkins due to the ketosis thing = dead diabetic). My goal is to get to 145lbs, then begin weight training with my therapist (so i don't unstraighten my perfectly straight back). *blinks* Before and after panty pictures will follow in about a month. Welcome! I do not do a good job of updating my progress on this thread but as you can see, we all do a great job of encouraging and motivating one another. Drop in often and let us know how you are doing.
In re your post, I am neither gaining nor losing right now either. I've been in limbo for a few weeks - started school (again) and have a FT job, so almost all free time has been devoted to homework. School's over for now though, time to re-set the clock and get going on weight loss and fitness journey once again.
Yesterday went for 9 rocky, hilly miles on the mountain bike and had good food intake. Fell apart at the beer though. We've switched to Amstel Light in the house - if we cannot give up beer for good, we may as well drink beer that's lower in calories and carbs but still tastes good. Have not weighed myself after the weekend, but on Thursday 8/9 I was 161.3 and 34.5% bodyfat.
Today started to get off track with a bite of Almond Joy - we have a candy bin at the front desk that someone filled up with bite size candies. After the first AJ I had a mini Reese's PB cup. No more for me today, I have an apple, raspberries, salad, and a home-made, lowfat codcake for lunch. Plus another bike ride planned for tonight.
It's good to be back in the saddle - now I just have to glue my fat ass to it so I don't fall off again!

I lost 5.4 lbs this week, bringing my total to 43.6 lbs lost since June 2, 2007.
My goal is to lose 6.5 lbs or more in the next two weeks to hit my double goal: 50 lbs lost and getting under the 300 mark for the first time since 2000.
Weight Watchers does work for men.

I dream about eating that meal. Then finishing it off with a nice scotch and a cigar on the back deck.
Don't worry too much about it, you'll get back on track. You can still eat well - just watch what you eat and watch the fat content.
