Why? Why do schools do this to people? I'm talking about those goddamn bumper stickers. No parent is more proud and supportive of their kids than I am. My wife and I take all the interest in the world in our kids' education. We actually go to the PTA and school board meetings. I praise my son for his grades and the fact that he was chosen for the gifted and talented program.
Why do I have to be put in a position of having to tell my son that I don't want to have to put one of these stickers on the back of my car? He doesn't understand why, because he sees his friend's more nebbishy parents driving around with two or three (for multiple sibblings in different schools).
Am I a bad person for not wanting to do this? I know that there are other parents on the board. How would you handle this?

tell him the car is owned by a bank and if you put it on then the bank will make you pay extra
or tell him your dads son is a dummie and you don't want to gloat, because that is essentially what people who put this on are doing(gloating)
Isnt there something in the bible about gloating... just quote that

I would tell the lad that you don't need a tacky sticker to show your pride in him.
Same thing goes for those various "ribbons".

Get the sticker Tatooed onto your forhead and show your pride that way.

I completely agree with you on this one. I think that it's ridiculous to have those bumper stickers. Not to mention the fact that they mess up the paint on your car, but you never know when a kid might walk by and see the stupid bumper sticker and decides to egg it or something stupid. I know it sounds crazy but it happens.

You Bet It Does! Fat Made The Mistake Of Leaving His Car Parked Out On Riverside Drive In NYC In 1988. When He Came Out In The Morning, The Two Back Tires Had Been Slashed.
Fat KNOWS It Is Because He Had A REAGAN Bumper Sticker!

my parents never put those stickers on their cars; just in case i dropped off the honor roll. they didn't want to go through the fuss of scrapping off the sticker. no joke.

My personal favorite is "my son is deep-dicking your pretty little honor student."

Tell your kid you only have room for one bumper sticker...

Didn't this kid get enough expensive prizes and superfluous random giftery for EASTER this year?
Does he really need to contribute to the defacing and potential Rooning of the bumper of your vehicle as well?
He gets nothing. Good Day, young sir!

Just tell him you dont want it on your car, thats it. Unless you already have bumper stickers on your car, like wow or your fav team. If you do then it would be fucked up to promote a stupid radion show who is nothing to you but not your kids. If they have a magnet version get that one!
I for one never understood why anyone puts bumper stickers on their cars. They look awful, they promote someone else while ruinging your car. Will O&A pay you for the wow sticker? No and when it ruins your paint you cost your self money to help them.
There is an old lady in my town who has her whole car covered with bumper stickers. The car is 30 years old and shes about 80. The car looks like a NYC contruction site with poster all over it. Stupid!!!

Tell him if the other guys at work see it they'll push you down and steal your lunch money. He'll be able to relate to that.

honestly, get one of those cut out magnets that you can stick the bumper sticker to. you can take it off when your kids not around and it wont stick on your car permanently.

I would tell the person that I'm against putting any bumper stickers on my car. I can't stand bumper stickers at all.
The closest I've gone is to put the name of my university on my back window.

I once freaked on a car dealership that put their sticker on the back of a car I bought when I went to go pick it up. I made them take it off right then and there.

Yeah, I went back and re-read my original post. For someone complaining about not wanting to put a bumper sticker on his car touting his kid's accomplishments that did seem a bit much. Believe me, I'm not at all like that and I'm really not the bragging type.
But . . . as long as I have this opportunity - have you ever seen pictures of my kids? They're fucking adorable! They're smart, outgoing and quite the atheletes.

Not sure if its been mentioned already; while the School ones aree indeed a Crime Against Nature; perhaps the ones letting you know an elderly feeb is driving are stupid to the point of dangerous.
'I Heart My Grandkids' and assorted variations might as well read
'Yes, Mr. Carjacker/Burgular/Psycho, this is the easy one you've been waiting for.'

Tell the lad that his achievements alone should raise his self-esteem. Gently explain that you dont need the ego boost nor should he. Then tell him to go beat the shit out of any kid who gives him a hard time for not having a sticker while you use generous amounts of sarcasm when dealing with the incredulous Biff and Muffy, proud parents and chairpersons of the dessert committee for the next PTA pot-luck.
