Good pull Jeff!
I was surprised by the text search results - I don't think I have ever heard of alltheweb.com, but I'm going to have to check it out.

I always start with Google and if I don't find what I want, I branch out from there.
Their page loads quick and doesn't have a lot of shit on it, unlik Yahoo who seems to want me to be part of their stupid community just to search for pictures I use to make dumb jokes on messageboards.
I'll try the 2 top ones in that survey now though, no one is married to a search engine.

I always start with Yahoo and then move to google. Yahoo rarely lets me down. my homepage is yahoo and the search bar is right there, so it is very convinient.

Agreed, Yahoo Toolbar, Click the Y or Just Search from the Toolbar, it rarely lets you down.

I like to give back to Google after all they have given to me. Usually find what I need within the 1st 2 pages.

The author tested 55 services in six categories: general (text info), video, mobile/local, news, images, and blogs. The goal was to simulate how "real people" searched
Where's Porn in that list?

Usually for general web searches I try Yahoo first. Though for image searches I go with Google, and then move on to Yahoo. I also use Google first if I'm looking to buy something.
I pretty much use Google exclusively, and it rarely lets me down.
My second choice is always Yahoo and I've never used another search engine. I'll give a couple of the aforementioned ones a shot.

Why and when did Google stop cacheing pages? I loved that feature.

Yahoo then Google... i remember in the early days of the internet search engines one named Alta Vista was considered one of the best and I thought it would be where Google and Yahoo are today but I'm not even sure it exists anymore... and I'm too lazy to find out
