Sleeves' entry is fantastic, and he was featured in a spot about the contest- not only will he make it to the next level, they may give him Nina Totenberg's job.

But keep in mind, there are 9 more spots to fill, and I know a lot of you are already registered on the site-

My entry is a little more...special and rough-hewn, but I did make it myself. It's recorded on a URL microphone that came with Karaoke Revolution (http://www.karaokerevolution.net/). If you'd care to listen to it here (http://www.publicradioquest.com/node/417), and then try to avoid being painfully honest with me, that'd be great. I would have spent more time on it, but I'm so busy volunteering with the Special Olympics and reading to children and the dead, I mean deaf, this is what I came up with. I used a nice drop from the Buddays as well.

Who else will pick up the radio gauntlet?

My entry is a little more... special as in special olympics? and rough-hewn, but I did make it myself. It's recorded on a URL microphone that came with Karaoke Revolution (http://www.karaokerevolution.net/) OMG, I have relatives in Karaoke, I hope they survived the revolution unscathed. If you'd care to listen to it here (http://www.publicradioquest.com/node/417), and then try to avoid being painfully honest with me, that'd be great. I used a nice drop from the Buddays as well. BUDDAY DROPPER!!!

Good luck, Baddy, you are far too lovely for the radio!!!

Who else will pick up the radio gauntlet?

I wanna pitch 'em a show called "bobogolem's difficult listening hour." Who's the floorwalker on that ship??? Is integrity a requirement to work @ NPR? If so, nevermind!!! Where the hell's the website? I wanna apply just to make 'em fuckin' batshit crazy!!! I'll tell 'em my name is Karma Girl...

Thaaaaaank you Bobo.

I think that you and me and Beloved Spouse should do a radio show together, and I predict that we would degenerate into our own monkey-language of obscure music and art references within three episodes, incomprehensible to anyone on the "outside."

I've listened a huge number of entries and Badinia's is seriously one of the best. She doesn't sound like an NPR clone and she doesn't sound nuts...just refreshing, unique...

Anyone who's already registered (or not) please take a two minute visit to the very funny, very intriguing world of the very very good, B A D I N I A!

VOTE BADINIA!!! (http://www.publicradioquest.com/node/417)

I will listen and vote tonight, since i am listening to Lenay. As for your question, after really thinking about I will put a clip of my show together from this week's show (since there wasn't much cursing) and send it in. It would be fun though I am sure there is better stuff out there. I WILL vote for you later, no matter what, since you said i am handsome.

Can you tell us more about:

1. When you were a boxing teacher?
2. When you sold vaccuum cleaners?
3. More about your vegetable oil powered blender? Did you buy it or make it?
4. Where can we buy your guitar bed music?
5. Do you have any audio of your grandfather doing his old radio show?

5. Do you have any audio of your grandfather doing his old radio show?

The thing I didn't bring up about Big Bill Corcoran was that the reason his career didn't continue past the fifties is that he died of alcohol-induced cirrhosis in his late forties. We're Irish!
I wish I did have some audio of him, I just have pictures of him looking tall and small-town famous in parades, opening grocery stores, etc.

One of our "family stories" is that when my grandmother (Virginia) found that she was pregnant, she let him know by showing up at the station while he was on-air and slapping a picture of a baby on the glass. He was surprised, and immediately announced on the air that he was getting married. Jus' like Dave! Sort of!

Bumpity!

A compliment from the Don is a high honor indeed. Feel free to post in this thread if you decide to enter the contest.

Be careful for what you wish for, there's like three hours of recordings of stand-up on badinia.com, but you wouldn't want to hear a lot of it, 'cos it's dirty.

Aww Mooch! You'll be pleased to hear that I am already putting the cart before the horse, and if I get into the next level, I plan on pitching a comedy radio serial heavily inspired by the Boosh, the radio plays of Hitchhiker's Guide, and Firesign Theatre from the states...all my favorite things!

You should definitely continue to remain in the state of expectancy.

A cup or sack of slugs or figs may show up at your door at any moment. I'm afraid you don't get a choice. It's random. That's how Sleeves rolls...up his sleeves and rolls them down. (too much coffee...sorry)
