Romeo and Juliet are found dead on the floor in a bedroom. When they were discovered, there were pieces of glass and some water on the floor. The only furniture in the room is a shelf and a bed. The house in is a remote location, away from everything except for the nearby railway track. What caused the death of Romeo and Juliet?

A man was to be sentenced, and the judge told him, "You may make a statement. If it is true, I'll sentence you to four years in prison. If it is false, I'll sentence you to six years in prison." After the man made his statement, the judge decided to let him go free. What did the man say?

How much did the bellhop keep?

How much did the bellhop keep?

ooh i love this one.

There is no missing dollar, its a simple misdirection of addition and subtraction.

$25 for the room + $2 for the bellhop=$27 $30 initial charge - $3 refund = $27 Each paid $9 and $9 x 3 = $27

The $27 is the total payment and $2 is a cost, not a payment! It just happens to add up to $29 giving the illusion of a missing dollar.

3 x 10 - 5 + 2 = 27 = 3 x 9

or another way to look at it

the 3 men pay $10 each for the $30 room, the fee was actually $25 so the bellhop takes the $5 and refunds each man $1 each which makes $3 and keeps $2, the $3 and $2 is $5 plus the $25 for the room makes the $30 total.

Four cowboys are standing in line. Each is wearing a cowboy hat and can see all hats in front of him, but not his own, and not behind him.
They know the following:

* there are four of them
* there is at least one red hat and at least one blue hat among them.

The order of hats goes:
Man #1: Red
Man #2: Red
Man #3: Blue
Man #4: Red

(#4 sees the blue and two red in front of him, #3 sees the two red in front of him, etc.)

Someone asks if anybody knows what color his hat is. One of them says yes.

Which one, and how does he know?
