Shame on Aaron for not being supportive of Bonds (http://www.detroitnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070420/SPORTS08/704200362/1004/SPORTS)

Rob Parker should just stick to The Price is Right and leave baseball to the experts.

Rob Parker is what Bob Barker's Dry Cleaners Call him.

Aaron is so bitter about free agency and the $$ being made by players today.

He should be ashamed of himself for that bull-shit article.....Fuck Bonds, I only hope he breaks the record on the road and get booed mercilessly.

I'm going to lunch with Rob tomorrow actually, the guy is the utmost of baseball fans.

He and I have had hour long screaming matches about Bonds and baseball in general in the past and he really does not like him in the least bit, but everything he said in that column was right.

Parker is a very polorizing figure in the Detroit community and I have disagreed with him many times, but I agree with him completely in this situation.

If Aaron doesn't want to show up, that's fine, but be honest about why you aren't showing up.

You think that Maris's family didn't know that McGuire was juiced up? They showed up. Now I am not a Bonds fan at all, but Hank broke the record having more games to achieve it in, so should his record be tainted?

Sure Bonds probably cheated, but so did Roger Clemens and countless other pitchers he faced.

Ron said Aaron was a baby for not showing up.

He might not be a baby, but he's being a bitch.

If he shows up great, it's a feel good story that can be spun a million ways about how much Barry has had to go through etc. etc. just like Aaron did.

If he doesn't show up, at least admit the reason you aren't showing up. It's a pretty big deal and has been for the past 3-4 years that has introduced Aarons names to millions of kids and people who would have forgotten about him or just not even known about him. He's being a baby by pouting about his record being broken, but not explaining why he's pissed about it.

Are you pissed because your record's being broken at all? Or that it's being broken by someone you (and everyone else) thinks is a cheater?

A question. How the fuck can Aaron expect to be at every game when Bonds is approaching the number? Say Bonds goes into a mini-slump at home run 754...is Aaron supposed to show up at every game that Bonds is in until he hits the home run? I never understood that.

I agree with you. I happen to like Bonds and really dont care if he did juice or not. I just dont I think the majority of players did it including pithcers. There are so many reasons for me to side with Bonds but wont type everything again. (Look at my other bonds post in other threads)

The same way Maris's family followed Mcguire around from park to park and that was Maris's whole family. Aaron should just say the truth. He a hypocrite on this issue. He never understood why the commish didnt show up to him breaking the record, but he hasnt mentioned it to Selig (his friend) that he should be there.

Hes doing this b/c he knows that there is a chance some will still look at it as his record or that bonds doesnt really own it.

I wouldn't really wish this on anyone, but it would be kind of interesting if the record breaking ball hits an old lady in the head and kills her. It would definitely ruin any celebrations he might want to have.

Ugh... I hate that I thought of that. But it would still be pretty cool.
