My stupid Tivo remote is fucked, will not work if I point it directly at the tivo, only if i aim it somewhere crazy, and not even the same direction every time, anyone else have this problem.
My stupid On Demand is fucked, every time I want to watch something on demand, I have to unplug the box, wait 10 seconds, plug it back in, wait 5 minutes for the clock to come up, then go to the on demand channel.... Every fucking time. Brighthouse cable, Scientific Atlanta box.
My brother has a scientific altanta box and when he turns on the on demand channel his box shuts off. Sounds to me like a problem with the box, get a new one

Here's my DVR problem: Whenever I fast forward through commercials, or anything really, it gets hung up on a black screen. That is to say, whenever there's a gap between commercials where the screen goes black, or sometimes when there's mostly black with some copy on the screen (ie the Amp'ed mobile commercials), my DVR won't fast forward through them, and I have to stop and actually watch in real time.
I've always felt that it was a built in bug forcing me to watch ads.

My TiVo remote did this once. I put in new batteries, restarted the TiVo, then re-configured the remote though the TiVo set up. I haven't havd the problem since. I hope it works ... good luck.

My TiVo remote once started going up channels non-stop when I would just click it once. I called TiVo with the problem and they sent me a new remote for free. You can always call them if it's not working right.

I work for Comcast and the inside line on the In Demand Service is :
"Fuck it, its junk."
On Demand uses your cable box as a cable modem, and downloads the stream from the local servers @ your cable provider. Except it is really affected by what you are doing on your line (downloading porn on your actual cable modem, what others on your Node are doing, etc) and the quality of the lines in your home, and running to the house from the Tap.
On Demand was going to be a pay service, but when they realized it was a giant turd with sprinkles on top, they said "Hey look at our Free On Demand Service". Thats why its free.
