hit one of the buttons on your monitor and it may auto-adjust back to normal
could be dustbunnies in your mouseball but most likely it's not

check your setting to make sure you screen resolution is 1024x768 or whatever you usually have it set at.
also make sure you did not set up Dual Monitors.

i had set my computer to not automatically install any microsoft updates
my chick got tired of having them pop up when we start the computer and clicked yes on install all updates, all told there were about 55 updates,
anyway since then my comp is running slow, also we just bought a printer and hooked it up and installed all the necessary software, etc
im thinking theres a bunch of shit running in the background slowing things down, anyone got a clue how i can check into that ??? or any other reasons things might be running slow ???
keep in mind i have a DSL connection
thanks buddays

control alt delete
processes tab
all that shit that comes with a printer is useless bs
all one needs to do is simply plug it in and if the driver isnt already installed then just install that.
All the other shit is superfluous dreck

if you can, take a screen print of the window and post it on here and we can tell you what you need to get rid of.
just restart the computer and then check what is running, that way it will be easier to see what loads on startup

I am assuming this is a laptop, because one of the processes is for the touchpad.
2 of the processes
BCMWLTRY.EXE
WLTRYSVC.EXE
are for you wireless card.
DSentry.exe is a dell application that stops the autorun from running when you insert a CD or DVD. you can disable this is you want.
other than that, you processes look OK. how much RAM do you have?

i have xp pro. in the command line type 'msconfig'
a window pops up and select "startup" tab
some people who know better may suggest differently but 'deselect' everything and apply and then restart the computer. you'll get a popup after reboot about 'startup config has changed' Just check the little box in the window and select 'don't show me again'
in most cases i have found people looking for help with their computer running slow have at least 20 apps/programs starting up at startup that sit in the background and drain resources. The way I look at it is if i need something I'll open/start it myself...

After you do that, download WinPatrol (http://www.winpatrol.com/winpatrol.html). From that moment on, anytime you download or install something that wants to run in your startup menu, has to be approved by you. Just make sure you don't de select Winpatrol in the startup, or the program won't run.
Oh... and dont deselect EVERYTHING in your startup menu. You still want your firewall and intivirus to run.

i didnt deselect everything
i had a feeling that the new printer we bought was the cause to my problems and after checking the startup menu all the programs associated with the printer were running in the background
deselected those and everythings running fine
