I post this because I was just watching the Met hame and a guy in a Yankke jersey got bounced. As a Yankee hater I have no ide why it bugs me, but I hate the Yankee replica's that have the names on them. This guy's I belive was Jeter, complete with name. I kills me. I see a lot of teams jerseys that aren't exact replica's Why do they make them so poorl? And why do they make Yankee jerseys with the name? This is a team rich in tradition, including one withiut last names. It really bugs me. I will get off my soap box now.

Yankees jerseys with names on the back bother the shit out of me too. Its really the only replica I can think of that bothers me, but i totally agree with you

The replicas with the names on the back are licensed by the Yankees, but the authentics (which are twice as expensive) do not have the names on the back. Which means this is a marketing ploy by the Yankees, plain and simple.
I have a meticulous jersey collection. I searched high and low before I found the prize of my collection: an authentic (on-field) #80 Wayne Chrebet. It's awesome.

Actually, there ARE replica Yankee jerseys which are licensed, but they aren't as readily available as the name-on-back deal, which goes through places like Modell's and Sports Authority.

how about people who put their own name on the back of a 'real' jersey! that annoys me.
i don't mind 'fake' jerseys that aren't supposed to look authentic, like softball-jersey versions of real teams, but fake, authentic-looking jerseys are for cheapskate ham-n-eggers.
if you're not gonna get the real thing, just buy a sweatshirt or t-shirt and be done with it.

Any one over the age of 18 should not be wearing a Jersey, replica or otherwise.
If you play , fine, wear it to your game. But if you're buying jerseys to wear, you're too old.
Its time to get an adult job and move out of your moms basement.
Samething with backwards caps.

Nice to make a value judgment. Should I assess you as a subhuman because of you lack of writing and grammar skills?
I admit I have a large collection. But I only wear them 1) on weekends when there's a game 2) actually at the game 3) watching the game 4) day of a big game or 5) day after a big win.

If Im not mistaken the thread (Do bad replica jersey's bother you.) was meant to be a value judgement and I expressed my opinion about the matter. You are free to wear whatever makes you happy and I will continue to hold my opinion about it. As far as someone being subhuman for lack of grammer skills I'm not sure thats a leap you could make, but feel free to if that works for you.

Replicas don't bother me, but what does is those stupid looking pink sports jerseys. Last I checked, my team's colors (or any others for that matter) are not pink and white.
What, women can't get into sports unless they have a girly jersey? Give me a break!

Up here the "pink hats" are what you call bandwagon fans on board since 2004. I hate the replicas with the names on the back (If thats not how your team does it) To me it doesn't make sense to drop 80 bucks on something thats not real, and that is easyly distinguished as a fake.
The prize of my jersey collection: Autographed Pat LaFontaine Old school Authentic Sabres Jersey.

Unless it's a Yankee jersey with "Costanza" on the back. Then it's gold!
I have a replica Tim Wakefield road jersey. What I hate about it is that the letters of the name are individually stitched as opposed to being a name "patch", I guess. Other than that, they look exactly the same as the ones that cost $100 more.

Pink jerseys are for women who think they are being cute.
"Cute" is for teeny-boppers.
And for babies.
Grown women, on the other hand, should not attempt "cute." It's sickening and weak.
I hate pink jerseys. Just ask Matty how close I was to puking when he hinted that maybe I should get one of those god-awful pink Pennington or E. Manning #10 "chick jerseys" that the sports memorabilia place had on mega-reduced clearance.
Pink is for wussies.
(And I happen to own two regular green jerseys - Chad Pennington and John Abraham - and have the decency not to wear the Abraham jersey since he no longer plays for the Jets.)

Yup .... and when I throw the ball around outside I throw side-arm, rarely throw interceptions and usually lose on incredible drives by the opposing team or one of my teamates fumbling.

My favorite Jersey is where its not even the team, it just says New York and is in the Team's Colors

I dont mind replica jerseys. I would rather spend $75 on a pair of jeans or a nice shirt then a jersey. So when I buy a new jersey I buy whatever is cheapest. I would bet most of you are the opposite on this just by your previous comments.
As for pink jersey's. I think they are fine, I wouldnt wear one (Im a guy) but my ex girl did so it didnt bother me. And my ex was 28 and not a teeny bopper and she looked good in it. I think (like any outfit) it all depoends on who is wearing something. A 40 year old can look good wearing a pink jersey if its a petite one, but a really big fat girl will not look "cute" in a pink jersey no matter how old she is. Just the way it is.

The Yankees jerseys with the names on the back might be one of the things I hate most in the world. The solid blue ones bug me, but they're batting practice jerseys, so whatever. But a pinstriped jersey with a name across the back? AWFUL!
After the '96 series win I went to opening day '97...saw a 30-ish year old man with a pinstriped jersey with the number 96 on back. Across the shoulders it read "No Name...Of Course." I wanted to throw him out of the upper deck.

Pink is still a disgusting thing to do to a jersey.
(And I just realized what I hate more than pink jerseys or bad replica jerseys. . .the misuse of the apostrophe to indicate a plural (see pink bold above)! It does NOT indicate a plural!!! It indicates a possessive or missing letters, as in a contraction.)
