avery knew exactly what he was trying to do when he made those comments to the media. he knew the media would run with it and make it a big deal out of it. i have no problem with guys trying to stir things up, just back it up i.e. messier "we will win this series" and stuff like that. but when you say you are going to hurt and hit and get in the heads of the other team and don't do shit, then the shit is going to hit the fan. avery was a -3 and took 2 bad holding calls and was a complete non-factor in the game. who knows, it might motivate him to play some better hockey on friday night and it could get interesting.

second point, fans in buffalo go nuts anytime the sabres score. the fans here have been going hockey crazy for close to two years now since coming back from the lockout. buffalo is a big time hockey city and are die hard about the game. also, the fans around here didn't take the comments from avery and renney lightly. when people talk shit on the team, the fans become even more crazy.

i expect renney to have his team more than ready for friday night's game because he is a great coach. he has really turned the rangers around since he became the coach. i am really looking forward to the game because i do not expect it to be anything like game one.

Unfortunately, I think the Devils are the most hated team in hockey for a few reasons. One being that they played/play udner the trap system which was a much more slowed down game, though not nearl without physical play and hard work.

Second is, people seem to loathe them for having small crowd numbers for the games. The fact is you had three teams in the area when the Devils came to Jersey and they had solid fan bases. You have the Flyers, the Rangers, and the Islanders. It might be hard to build a fan base when most hokcey fans tend to be hardcore fans and don't change their alliance just cause a new team enters the state.

I'll have you know that I watched every minute. Those pricks gave me heart failure when they went down 2-0 once again in their own building before we were 5 minutes into the game. That's what prompted my above post.

Buffalo was making me sick with their power play. It seemed like they were trying to set up the perfect shot, which usually resulted in them not getting any. Sometimes you just have to throw it at the net, like Rozsival did.

My only comment on the "kicked" in goal was that it wasn't any different than the goal off the glove in Buffalo earlier this series. If that was allowed this should've been as well. i wanted to post this last night, but stupid time warner internet sucks my cock. the rangers played a hell of a game. lunqvist made a ton of huge saves. it was quite entertaining. i thought i was going to have a fucking heart attack during those overtimes.
