I keep getting a pop up that my hard drive is running out of space. I purchased an external drive and moved everything over to it, but I have almost 0 space on the c drive. How can I get this fixed?

Did you delete the files you moved over? They don't delete automatically when you move them to a external drive. If you did delete them, empty your recycle bin.

I did a cut and paste from the C to the external drive. My recycle bin is empty.

You still need to delete them from your C. You may want to check if a defrag is needed after you delete them and empty the bin.

Like people are saying, when you transfer files from one drive to another, it only copies them onto the new drive and doesn't move the original files. You need to delete the files you moved from the original drive.

And the CD tray is not a cupholder.

Cut and Paste would Remove the files and transfer them.
Copy and Paste will just simply Copy the files and leave the originals behind.

Is C: your primary HDD? Windows is installed there.. and your Program Files folder is stored there? If you are trying to back up that dive just Copy/Cut and Paste won't do it.

My C drive has much more space now. Thanks for the recommendations. The computer is running better after I did a disk defrag

so that basically wasn't a memory problem, wasit?

I keep getting my computer is ow on memory andis adding some blah blah blah. some features might be slowed down during this

I'm getting this a lot. I got 256ram C drive plenty of room, but that's not your memory problem are is it. I defrag, disc clean and floss regularly

Your memory problem deals with RAM. If you have 256Mb of ram, and you are getting these warnings, you need more RAM. Either that, or check what things run automatically on your comp. You'd be surprised how many things can start up on your comp, that you aren't aware of.
