I apologize if this is not where I am supposed to be doing this but I have set my MyXM to record the show everyday and it never does. Then sometimes when I have shows recorded and go back to listen to them some more the MyXm is clear. Does anyone else have this occur. I asked in the OffTopic Room and was directed here. Thanks

Now this is a good post. I can't answer your question. My MiFi is strange to say the least. Today it just started half working for some reason. The tuner wouldn't work and it froze up. Every once in a while I have to take out the battery and reset it or something. I think the technology is just fucked up.

I am not a tech person but I try. My advice is always take out the battery. Next hold the buttons down really hard. Not hard, really hard. Then wait like 5 minutes and repeat these steps. Any other questions please feel free to ask away.

Its just always acted funny(MyFi), I got a new battery in the mail and it did not change its behavior, still happy with it and like the memory but the inability to delete single tracks rather than a mass dump seems archaic.

i record 5 hours each night (maybe this weekend the clock will even be reset so i record the 5 hours i want!) and it would sometimes record part of the 5 hours and keep some of the previously recorded 5 hours. advice i got from someone (i don't recall who) led me to erasing my previous material each night, plugging the unit into the charger, wait till i get a good signal, THEN (and only then) turn the unit off. i've had ZERO problems since starting this process a few months ago.
well, not entirely. 3 times about a month ago, i lost all of my recorded material PLUS all my pre-sets. i think it happened each time the battery died on me. now i am also careful not to let the battery fully power down.

I know that the MyFi will only record automatically if it's off, and in the cradle, or while hooked to the antenna.
My MyFi would occasionally flip out and need to be reset- you open the back, and push in the little reset hole (next to the battery) with an unfolded paperclip or summat.
That being said, it has been known to lose programs, shift material around so that a thirty minute segment moves over to thirty one-minute segments, or just stop workin'. It's magic. I'm much happier with my little Inno buddy.

Mine has occasionally skipped a recording session (for some reason, usually a Friday), but its pretty rare. I always make sure I have a signal and it's on the right channel before I turn it off. You're not supposed to have to set it on the channel, but I do it anyway.
One thing that amazes me is how many shows you can actually fit on it. I can easily get 3 full shows on it. If you try to set both sessions at the same time, it won't let you do more than 5 hours. But if you record them one session at a time, it records much more.

Wierd.
In all the time I had my Tao, I never had one of these problems.
And, if you record something manually, I've heard you can get 8-9 hours on there. I never tried it, though.

yeah, that's part of the prob i would have before i started deleting old material before recording new. i would go to listen to the new and it would still be the old. then it would eventually lock up playing the old (at some random point in the 5 hours) and i'd have to take out the battery. when i put the battery back in *POOF* new material replaced the old!

My Airware, which runs the same firmware as the MyFi, does the same thing sometimes. What fixes it for me is to take it out of the dock, and take the battery out, and then push the little reset button on the back. That usually gets it.

I will try to reset it with the paperclip, its behavior is so irradic. It will get the track titles and the track themselves messed up, once when EastSide Dave was talking the XM said Butthole Surfers, I thought it was rather fitting.
