although i have found minimum success with the actual softwares needed for this i don't want to watch a 2 hr dvd render at 3 frame per second
does anyone know a better way then putting the iso into daemon tools and then using flash mpeg?
theres gotta be a better way.
or does anyone who knows about such things as moddified xboxs, if they can play files in iso-i don't think they can but that would be sweet.
okay

assuming you just want to hurry up and watch the movie, this may help. VLC Media player will play an ISO file.

i dont do it anymore but i always found it tideous and a pain in the ass (the file transfer not the software), but i used "c-xbox tools" to push tings around the xbox pc network. i dont remember the name of the dashboard i had on there...for playbackand file browsing etc.. but i could plug it in. i'd have to unplug the brand spanking new 360 though.
anyone got any leads on modding the 360?

pat- is this an Original Xbox modded? I have one and use XBMC (Xbox Media Center) and I think you can play an ISO file from XBMC without converting. If you connect your Xbox or Xbox360 directly to your PC (ie- no router) then you first off need a cross-over CAT5 cable, not a straight/regular one.
And you'll have to assign an IP and default gateway. make th IP 192.168.0.* and usually the default gateway is 255.255.255.0 and the DNS Gateway i think would be your PC's IP address.
Much easier with a router tho. But even then my XBox (original) does not detect my network settings when i connect to the router, i have to manually enter them. If this is your situation get the IP address of the router first (the address you use to connect to the routers HTML based setup page.) example:
My routers setup page is at 192.168.1.1
My default Gateway (and most likely yours) 255.255.255.0
Then I checked my PC's IP assigned by my router 192.168.100.1
So make your Xbox IP 192.168.100.2
Default Gateway 255.255.255.0
DNS 192.168.1.1
and it should connect.
Give me more specific info and i can help you further.
Also BEST XBOX RESOURCE EVER:
www.xbox-scene.com
i check it everyday - you can see that the 360 has finally be hacked also.

If you're connecting from the xbox (or anything else for that matter) to your computer you will probably need to find your computer name and use it along with the username and password like this:
COMPNAME/Username (where COMPNAME is the name of your computer, you can get it from the system properties control panel)
password
If that doesn't work you may want to create an account for file sharing on your computer or change the administrator account password. I like to leave the administrator account out of the equation and create a username just for file sharing. If you right-click My Computer on the desktop and select Manage from the pop up menu you can manage user accounts from the console that appears. That's also where you can double-check your administrator account username and reset it's password. Browse to "Local Users and Groups". You can right-click on "Users" to create a new user or you can right-click the admin account to reset it's password.
note to self - make shorter posts when trying to be timely
