FOr all of you coke classic lovers, now is the time to head to your local kosher mart and stock up !!
THe kosher for passover coke is not the same coke you drink all year. It is "the" original formula, before they started using that shitty fructose to sweeten the soda. You will notice a big difference in how it tastes. It will be available for only a short time, so ACT FAST!!!!
Shalom !!!

I've been dying to find that stuff. We don't have a kosher market around here. Anyone know if there's an online way to search for retailers?

At the local Pathmark, all of the Coke is Kosher for Passover! Stock up, people. So much better than corn syrup!

I've been doing Google searches, and can't find a way to track the retailers. All I find are localities that are nowhere near me. Do you think the local Synagogue would mind a phone call?

I still dont understand Kosher? Is something evil b/c its not kosher? If thats true can anyone in this day and age really believe shit like that.
As for coke. I loved coke when I was younger but the past 10 years I have become a Pepsi drinker. I think it taste better IMO

My son said he saw it one year at Target. I called them tonight to ask if they'd have it. I don't think they knew what Kosher meant. I sometimes hate living in the sticks.

Most supermarkets should carry it.
And Passover is about commemorating the people lost during slavery to the Egyptians in ancient times. The Kosher observance is because of the foods they couldn't eat as they escaped Egypt.

If you want the real coke After passover go to a Mexican Grocery. You'll pay $1.50 a can but it taste so much better. High fructose corn syrup is the white mans posion.

There are lots of Kosher laws; and passover kosher is special. Passover commerates the Exodus of the Jews from Egypt; and the sparing of the Jewish firstborns from a plague that killed all then firstorn males (I think.). So the Jews had to get out of Egypt in a hurry and didnt have time to cook a lot of grain so the had matzoh instead of bread no rice barley nothing.
So now Instead of bread theres Matzoh and a whole bunch of forbidden foods in addition to the larger Kosher restrictions. Theres passover coke because it's made with cane sugar which is ok. Normal coke has corn syrup which is forbidden cause corn is forbidden. Coke is normally kosher except during passover when corn is forbidden.

Generally, if something is not kosher, it is considered "unclean" (treyf). Eating pork = unclean, eating shellfish = unclean, mixing milk and meat together = unclean, etc. Its not the biggest sin, but who wants to be unclean?
There are additional rules on passover. Nothing that needs to be leavened can be eaten. I don't know why that means coke, but there must be something in there.

What type of coke is kosher? Regular coke? What about pepsi coke? The other coke? You know root beer? Or the other coke ? Sprite is that kosher too? I'll just take a coke. No not that one. I want a cream soda.

I didn't see it mentioned earlier, but the "Kosher for Passover" coke has yellow caps.
there is kosher for passover diet coke, but obviously its not gonna have sugar.
It has become an interesting phenomena how people search for this.

I take showers to be clean, then eat a ham and cheese sammmwich.
I still dont understand why any of this is considered "unclean" The pork is cooked, the shelfish is cooked etc. Milk comes from a cow and so does steak why is it bad to mix something that comes premixed?
If you wanna talk unclean lets talk about the suits and top hats some very religious jews wear. Those things look real "clean"
oh and so do their cars and mini vans.

F_S Cannot Speak With Authority On This Point, But He Always Thought That The Jews Considered It "Insulting" To Eat An Animal That Was Good Enough To Provide You With Its Milk. Obviously, They Do Eat Both Cows Meat And Cow's Milk, But Eating Them Together Is Kinda Like "Adding Insult To Injury", So Out Of Respect For The Animal, They Don't Do That.
Assuming That Explanation Is Correct, Then Judaism Is A Very Civilized Religion.

Not this year, at least from what I have seen so far. They've done away with the yellow caps and instead just have it listed in the ingredient list.
Here's a picture I took a few minutes ago about finding this product and what to look for.

I was just at the store and looked again.. it seems that there are indeed yellow caps again this year, but it also looks like the regular caps have switched over to sugar as well.
i've been waiting for over a year for this since i missed it last year, and what a let down! theres really no difference
