I have a pdf file of an ad that is process color (CMYK) and when I check the
separations in Acrobat, the black text in the ad is building out of all 4 colors, rather
than just being black. I need the black portions of the ad to just print black, not
print on all four plates. I opened the pdf in photoshop and saved-as an .eps file,
but this did not fix it (I've had this work in the past).
Anybody have any suggestions how to fix this? My boss is out of town or else I'd
ask him.

You should be able to select just the text and then fill that selection with pure black

How? I'm not that much of a Photoshop whiz. The only way I know how to do this
is to pick something black with the wand then "select similar" then go to edit/fill
and pick black. I tried this but the text is still is on all four plates.
