<p>Right now they are about to show Lou Reed - Transformer</p><p> I think it is cool to see how these albums are made and what were the inspirations for the songs and how they finally got made. </p><p>Anyone else like this show. Some of my favorites:</p><p>Sex Pistols -- Nevermind the bollocks</p><p>The Who - Who's Next</p><p>Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road</p><p>Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon. </p>

<p><font size="2">I'm glad they're running them on TV now. They've been a DVD series for a few years. I've got the WHO and FLOYD ones, along with Steely Dan "Aja" and Judas Priest "British Steel"</font></p><p><font size="2">It's pretty cool to hear from the producers, engineers, etc.</font></p><p><font size="2">I want to get Iron Maiden "Number Of The Beast" next.</font> </p><p> </p>

<p>I thought the Dark Side of the Moon one was awesome- Ive seen it like 5 times.</p><p>I bought the Nirvana nevermind one on DVD</p><p>I didnt even know there was a Sex Pistols one- If you happen to see that they are replaying it please PM me.</p>
I saw something like this on PBS where they profiled classic albums: mostly from an engineering and recording viewpoint. I remember they did Jimi Hendrix's "Electric Ladyland", The Dead's "American Beauty" and Stevie Wonder's "Songs in The Key Of Life".

I am currently watching the Nirvana Nevrmid episode. Watching how Butch Vig produced the album and left alot of the mistakes in the recording of the album- which we have become acustom to and makes us love the album..is absolutely brilliant.

I wish I had known about this earlier. I'm watching it now. VH1 Classic has some really good shows, and I always forget about it, when I'm looking for something to watch.

Watching it too. I love it when they dissect the tracks.

Nevermind is one album that basically caught me at the one of the worst times of my life and made me feel like I wasnt alone and and gave me something to live for... I honestly would not have been talking to you guys today if it wasnt for this album. I know it sounds like a cliche but I was honestly gonna off myslef that night at 17 years old until my friend Sean (who worked at a record store) gave me an advance release of the album. I never told him that he basically saved my life by just giving me this album.
The thing that pisses me off is the one guy (Kurt) lyrics who saved my life did what I was going to do three years ealrier- I love him and hate him for doing that... I understand but at the same time Im angry about it. His death hit me pretty hard and when the one person who helped you get through hard times and gets what I am going through gives up on life - how was I supposed to take that...we are hopeless. Hit me worse than any of my drugged out friends ODing and my family members dying..sad I know
I have never fully recovered...
sorry maybe Ive revealed too much..this might have been more apropriate for the confession forum

This is really bringing back memories of when two buddies and I sat down with bongs and absorbed & dissected this album for the first time. I can't remember exactly when it was, but Teen Spirit had just started to get air time on alternative stations (in my case WHFS). I think it was in late 91 or 92. We were completely blown away.

The early to mid 90's were the upswing of my life just because of the music scene- that is when I peaked and sad to say I still try to pretend im still in that era- I cant let it go.If I dolet it go - I wont last very long
