<p>I thought id carry on Gaia's thread with this more general hatred of recent commercials thread.</p><p>I'd like to elect my #1 most hated commercial of recent weeks to be:</p><p>The verizon wireless commercial where the juicehead is describing his love of the latest fall out boy song playing on his cell phone, then proceeds to rock out to it like its &quot;enter sandman&quot;. then, just to offset how much of a fucking faggot he is, he claims the call coming in is from his girlfriend, when we all know its not.&nbsp;</p><p>not straight man who lifts weights likes fall out boy. we all know. </p><p>&nbsp;</p>

The Dodge Avenger Commercial.

The premise is stupid. A douchebag of an engineer in a control room controlling three Dodge Avengers remotely. Through his constant movement of a set of shifters, he gets the exhaust tones of the Avengers to mimic "smoke on the water" by Deep Purple. And that's supposed to make the car tough!

Problem number ONE:
It's played every other spot during sporting events and "guy" oriented shows, such as FutureWeapons or The Deadliest Catch. Over and over and over and over and over and over and over and....you get it.

Problem number TWO:
The commercial spends more time on the shifters and not enough on the CAR! My thinking is because if you look at the car, it looks EXACTLY like the Dodge Charger, which is Chrysler's problem...the grille looks like the Ram pickup's grille, which looks like the Caravan's grille, which looks just like the Magnum's grille, which looks like the Nitro's grille, which looks like the Caliber's grille Chrysler had best better get the Challenger on the market just so they have ONE vehicle that looks like itself, and not like every other car in the lot.

Problem number THREE:
Why is this 98 pound weakling wearing a white labcoat? Can someone explain this to me?

Problem number FOUR:
All NASCAR fans should know this. The Avenger is only on the market because of the Car of Tomorrow, and Chrysler is pushing this V6 version of the Charger for the sole reason they have to sell enough units to keep the Charger on the racetrack. And for the price of a fully equipped V6 AWD Avenger, you can buy the base version of the V8 powered Charger.

It's a total scam on the American consumer, it's 180 degrees away from what the consumer wants from a mid-sized sedan, it has no ability to lure a customer in with innovation, price or features yet we are all supposed to snap them up so that we can have a MOPAR Car of Tomorrow.
No innovation-it is styled EXACTLY like the Charger, only a bit smaller.
No features-it has the cookie cutter crap like a slap shifter transmission, while Nissan has a whole new gearbox on cars ten thousand dollars cheaper then the Avenger. It has a GPS system-whoop de doo, you can get that on ANY car nowadays. It has Sirius Satellite Radio, but no system similar to the ONSTAR system.
Dumb Price-to get the MyGig multimedia system with the Satellite Radio and the GPS system, it is a staggering 1800 dollars! If you want to use it with DVD playback for your family or freinds, shell out another 1200 dollars for the DVD displays. And this is the main "selling point" of this car. And for the Boston Accoustics speakers to match your MyGig unit, another 600 dollars. So for the option they are pushing on that dumb commercial, be prepared to spend 3600 dollars. Even on the R/T V6 AWD model. It's NEVER a standard option.
