Supposedly you can download movies and tv shows directly to Tivo now, they teamed up with amazon or something, anyone try it yet, know how much it costs?

That sucks, I have a series 2, hooked up to my network. Can already download videos on my computer and watch them over tivo. Will have to splurge eventually for a series 3 with dual tuner anyway i guess... Fucking technology upgrades.

I get mad with forced purchases for technology upgrades as well, but most of the time when I break down and get it, I find it was worth the money. I can't imagine TV without my TiVo, and I can picture it now, I will bitch and complain about it, but break down and buy the new one, then after a month or two I won't be able to imagine TV without it. Between my TiVo and my Inno I don't watch or listen commercials anymore which is virtually priceless to me.

Its Series 2 or Series 3. And Amazon gives you $15 for signing up :

http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?t=466459

You can rent movies for like $2.99 a piece, or buy them for about $14.99 a piece. You can also download television episodes and certain sporting events. And you can put anything on two sources, any combination of PC and/or TiVO. Its a pretty neat service.

I have a season 2 TiVo with lifetime plan. I don't think you can transfer that anymore and have no desire to spend a couple hundred on a series 3 and have to pay it monthly too.
