i just responded to the 90s arcade game poll and was thinking of the great pinball they had in the commons building in college (1990-1994). My favorites were (in order):

1) Dr. Who

2) Twilight Zone

3) Adams Family

I always said that one day I would buy a Dr. Who machine. That is still on my to do list. That game was so freaking good. Anyone else have favorites? Pinball seems like a dying thing - isn't Bally out of business?

edit - i just looked it up - bally stopped making pinball machines - they are still in business - very big in casinos. also in 2005 a company called the pinball factory bought the rights to re-make old bally machines.

I remember reading in Maxim maybe 3 years ago that the last two pinball games that would be made was like Start Wars II and some other retro monster from the 50's type machine.

I love the original Star Wars Pinball Game

Twilight Zone was also a good one and same with Adams Family

But i will always love the old school 80's pinball machine that used to say

"Ride the Ferris Wheel"

The Adams Family was by far the best, but F14 Tomcat was also a great one.

The only two made were Star Wars Episode One and the mars attacks type one, whose name escapes me at the moment.

Man, I was a huge pinball player. Chicago is a pinball capital of sorts, because they made the machines there. My favorites:

<>Addams Family - classic. great shot alleys and great jackpot variety. They had this machine in a bar I spent a lot of time at, and when the time what right we would all yell "THAAAA MAAAA MUSHKA!"

Fish Tales - just awesome, and great sound.

Terminator 2 - This game had this ball launcher that you'd have to use to start the jackpot. Fun.

I will defintely own at least 2 pinball machines in my lifetime.

The only one I was ever good at was Space Shuttle. I could play that thing forever.

My favorite pinball machines would have to be.

Addams Family

Funhouse

Twilight Zone

Hook

I spent soooo many quarters at the local arcades getting to know these machines, but after a while I could keep the games going for quite a while.

When I met my wife, pinball just faded away for me and I hardly ever played. Until a coupld of years ago when we went on vacation and it rained for 3 days straight and I found that the laundramat nearby our vacation spot had an Addams Family machine and I was hooked all over again.

I saved up my nickles and dimes and last fall I bought an Addams Family machine which was in fantastic shape. I now have my eye on a Hook machine and am trying to figure out how to break the news to my wife.

Loved Xenon -- scary that I remember the actual name from that longs ago. http://www.ipdb.org/showpic.pl?id=2821&picno=3173 Space Shuttle was a good one also.
