You're in school. I assume you have T1 or the like. Get a TV tuner card for your comp. And no... I couldn't live w/o TV for long. I did it in my younger days, but I couldn't do it now.

No way...Tv is what I wake up to , do work to, zone out to and fall asleep to.

The only exception is R&F and O&A but that's mostly in the car...But even when I listen to the show or past bits on the computer, the TV is on mute in the Backround. (Usually cnn)....

The only real reason I have TV is for sports and with XM I also have all of those. So I probably could live with out TV for awhile. No radio or music or internet would hurt me more.

All I read was the thread title and Im answering.

NO, I could not live without tv. I hate even the thought of it.........GOOD DAY SIR!!!! GOOD DAY!!!!

About the same time my cable TV got shut off, I got XM radio (Dec. of last year). I watched a lot of TV, constantly flipping through the channels. I figured, screw it, I can live without it. I will read more books. I will listen to more music.
Truth be told, I still read books, I still listen to music, and I became a big fan of the Virus. But I still miss the TV.

I basically live without TV now. There's NEVER anything worth a shit on TV. When I used to watch it, it was a lot of History Channel and The Food Network.

Fuck TV.

I went without cable for a year or so while I was in college. I'd like to say that I read more books and was generally more productive without it, but that simply was not the case. I watched just as much tv during that time as I did when I had cable. I watched poor quality network channels with an antenna. Judge Mathis was funny sometimes, I guess.

I think I could. We only have one TV in the house and the kids control that, especially on weekends when they can use the Xbox. I only get it for an hour or so at night before I go to bed.

My wife and I keep the TV on in the background and only actively watch a couple programs. I TiVo Pardon The Interuption and Good Eats .... she TiVo's Oprah and Law & Order SVU .... so we could totally survive without it. Between XM, books, and DVD's we could be thoroughly entertained.

Once you've been away for a while you really see how the whole point of TV is to sell you stuff, for the most part. I get much more out of going online than I ever did out of the tube. But I need my Yankees, so I have to own one.

I just need Comcast Sports and WGN for all the Cubs games...HBO when The Wire is on...and all the various Discovery/History/news channels...and that's it.

as long as i could still be able to watch sabres games and sunday night baseball in the summer, i think i would be okay for a while.
The only thing I'd miss is "The Forensic Files" on Court TV and the occasional baseball and hockey game. Otherwise, I'd have no problem living without TV.
