King Of Early-90's Arcade Games

This poll doesn't necessarily pertain to the "best" arcade game or your favorite arcade game, but rather the one that totally 0WN3D the arcade scene in the early-90's... The game that every pizza shop and arcade (when they existed) HAD to have, and every neighborhood punk had their initials in the High Scores.  I've narrowed it down to 4:

i remember when the arcade in our mall first got street fighter II.  it was utter insanity, kids went apeshit over it.

<p>Mortal Kombat II was where I was king.&nbsp; I remember buying every single piece of media that had anything to do with MKII, even if it was one small screen shot or a new move code.&nbsp; I would go to arcades and take on everyone.&nbsp; It was such a cool scene, everyone was duking it out all over the place.</p><p>Them were the days.</p><p>The only thing I see like it anymore is Marvel vs. Capcom, which still is complete king in the arcades I have been to.&nbsp; Fighting anyway. </p>

<p>Loved the early Madden where you could basically get a pass interference call on&nbsp;every pass play and the original NHL Live&nbsp;where you could use the&nbsp;score on every breakaway trick. </p><p>With that said Street Fighter two takes it... &nbsp;its really no contest</p>

<p>NBA Jam was the game but was so expensive to play, but me and 3 others figured out how to cheat the machine and i swear this is 100% true</p><p>We would tape string to a quarter, and then you let the quarter drop till it registers the credit and then you would simply raise the quarter and drop it as it registered the credits.&nbsp; We would get full games in and then put it to the max of 100 credits, and the best thing is you pushed the coin return in and the game would refund the quarter with the string still attached.&nbsp; As this was a midway game i am betting you could do the same thing with MK</p><p>And anyway Gauntlet and Wrestlefest were the shit</p>

i voted for MK.&nbsp; they had that in the common building in college my sophomore year when the game came out.&nbsp; some of my roommates and i figured out scorpion's finishing move - it was awesome...
