Yeah, my Grandfather would tell me stories. He also was one of the first in the Electrical Union Local #3. He use to run wire through the gas lines that were used for lighting.

Great pics, keep 'em coming.

There was a show on TV recently that showed hundreds of old NYC archive pics usually over an industrial music track. NYC1 was the channel? Great show except for the music which never seemed to fit with the theme of turn of the century NYC.

As a former resident I will speak to the awesomeness that is www.forgotten-ny.com, but I am sure most of you already know about it.

Damned shame to see nice pictures warp the thread.

This reminds me of the old postcards I collect. Oh, I'm not serious about it, indeed a lot of the ones I buy are as mundane as can be.

Years ago on one f my first trips to Paris, I saw one of those cheesy yellow postcards with Greetings From Sunny Florida! written over a map of the state and little icons at the various tourist sites.

Ever since then when I travel, I take a pile of postcards and send them from wherever I am. I never send a postcard from the place I am visiting.

That's just how I roll......
