Id'd for Robitussin

<p>I didn't even know they started Iding for Robitussin! I was getting some condoms tussin and cough drops and they asked me for id... I aked what I was getting id'd for and they showed me the tussin,lol.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>I showed it to them but I thought it was too funny.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>I guess it has to do with people taking ti to trip or whatever but it's ok to trip on it if your overage??lol...</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>It was wierd.&nbsp; When did they decide this??</p>

I think it varies from state to state but the magic number is 18. I dont think its a huge deal... or atleast i hope not because ive never carded for it

Funny thing is in order to buy the "children's" cough meds you also need to be over 18. The way I learned cig laws is that everyone in the buying party needs to be over 18. Of course you can't enforce that rule when moms bring their kids in with them

Yeah I bought some Mucinex in Target for a cold I had about a month ago...I had to give them my license so they could put it on file. I guess I can't open that meth lab after al!!

That's somewhat of a different story. You have to be over 18 to buy robitussin because kids get high off of it (the DM part), they only check your DOB for that and usually limit the amount you can buy (its like 3 packages per transaction.) Pseudoephedrine is the ingredient in drugs that they take down all your info for and keep track of all your purchases

the store I work at works like this:

DM products (robotussin) can be bought anywhere in the store and you just need to be over 18

Pseudoephedrine (sudafed) can only be bought in the pharmacy and you need to give your license. Except we type the info into the computer and it checks it against our records
