View Full Version : Health issue?

Dear Oracle;

I hope you have some medical training, because I think I have a problem and I have no health insurance. Here it is;

About 3 or 4 years ago, when my stress and depression was at an all time high, I started noticing that my left eye felt "funny"...almost like it was tired, but not so much the eye ball, the eye lid. Like it was heavy...thicker than my right one almost. This was all happening intermittently, like every couple of days or so for about a year, MOSTLY when I was really tired or when I was smoking too much pot. It stopped about a year ago and I havent worried about it since..........BUUUUT, about three weeks ago it started again....and it is not only pissing me offf, but because I notice it so much it's adding to the depressed state I am in at this moment. I also have noticed something else....it happens every couple of days, sometimes more than once a day, but I get dizzy, really dizzy, I feel like I almost have to hold on to something, kind of like when you get superbombed and get the dizzy feeling andthe room wont stop spinning, It just happened about 5 minutes ago and It the real dizziness lasts for about a minute, and then for a bit afterwards I still feel off center.

I am also worried because my sister got bells palsy about a year and a half ago...and she still has a touch of it, she also has been diagnosed with glaucoma, she's only three years older than me.

Can these two things (the dizziness and the eye) be connected? Do I have a brain tumor? Should I be robbing a bank so that I can go to a doctor???

Please Oracle.......hook a sister up.

There was a time for a while where I would get really dizzy. I always felt like I was walking on lifts or my legs were numb. I do deliveries for work. I would have to mentally pysch myself up and say "ok your not gonna pass out". It was very scary. One time I called my boss and told him "I think your gonna have to come get me cause I can't drive". I felt like it was easier to close my eyes than to keep them open. Somehow I made it out of this unscathed. I don't know if this helps you at all but some of it seems similar to me.

My eyelid twitches once in a while, usually more so when I am tired. Feels like its throbbing.

My now recent ex chick did not have insurance either. She would never go to the doc in fear of the huge bill. So I do understand you issue. Seriously, I would try to find every avenue that could help you with the bills. You need to go to a doctor please. I mean I could say its anxiety, but who the hell am I. I know your body reacts oddly when you are stressing, but I don't mess with head issues.

Gaia...PLEASE get yourself checked out ASAP.

Like others have said, it's probably related to exhaustion and/or stress but it's nothing I'd let slide. I know medical bills can be exorbitant, but you're worth it.

Let us know how you make out.

That would be a low blow,. But well played.

Find out what New York Hospitals are doing "charity care", do a little bit of research and work with their financial office.

You would be shocked what you can get done when working through the right channels.

Sounds like you're just stressed out. You'd be amazed how that can manifest itself physically after you've had something on your mind for a long time. But go to a walk in clinic get a check up, cant hurt. Like Lleeder said, its about $60 at most places.

Tell that useless boyfriend of yours to give you a backrub once in a while.

Hope you feel better sweetie. And stop smokin that stupid weed.
