The Black Donnellys start Monday at 10pm after Heroes It Looks Promising , but on National Television, they may have been able to get away with more on a F/X or HBO. I hope this show has Merrit, It is one of the Few Shows that May sway me away from WWE Monday Night Raw

I would think so. BTW... it's nothing at all like an East Cost OC. Then again, I've never seen the OC, but I think I have an idea of what it's like. Does the OC have people getting killed and beat up all the time?

I thought it was okay. The beginning was slow moving, but that ending was great.

I'm confused as to the order of the brothers though. Kind of a little Lock Stocky, Snatchy, young Irish hoods show. Not what I expected, so see if it can string a few together. It kept me on NBC instead of switching over to mock CSI Miami.

The show was OK, but I didn't like the "flashback" aspect as told by Joey Ice Cream, which is a pretty bad f'n nickname anyway. So Joey is in jail - and he's telling this big story - which really wouldn't fly in reality - but hey, it's a tv show.

I'll give it a chance but I don't see how they could continue the flashback aspect. And least for a whole season.

I'm pretty sure this is supposed to be taking place in Hell's kitchen (ala Sleepers) plus the whole italian angle seals it but a lot of the location shots are in Sunnyside Queens and Riverdale in the Bronx. The elevated train scene looks like the 1 train by the Allen Pavilion hospital up in inwood just above washington heights. The bar definately looks like its in Sunnyside- where all the old irish pubs are or just below woodside queens.

I'm interested in the show actually most because of the location shots. I love any show that you can really get a good look at NYC and very few do more than the typical skyscraper panoramic and crappy tenement shot. One of Rescue Me's best features is the fact that they really do a good job reflecting how people live in New York. Law and Order has become very hit or miss, especially with the staged fucking apartments that all look straight out of Pottery Barn or Pier One.

Wow that's a lot of words.

Is Ray LaMontagne the official soundtrack for dramas now?

The best thing I could say about this show is that it's better than Lucky Louie.

It's slipped to a 50/50 watch now. Weak show and it finally didn't keep my interest all the way through.

It's starting to lose my interest. Lat night's show was OK, although it was good to see Kate Mulgrew have more lines. She's excellent as the mother. But the flashbacks and the voice overs really take me out of the show. If they could just drop them and have the storyline move linear, I think it would improve greatly.

I wish they cancel this show and give me something else to watch. There is nothing on TV so I continue to watch this horese shit.
I mean come on, who walks around with an ax all the time in NYC? I dont care if that is his weapon of choice. Its NYC not a forest.
The writing is just bad. Are the writers trying to make every character hated? The acting cant get any worse. So over done.

I need something else to watch. How is that show "What about Brian" Anyone watching that? Is it any good?:furious:

It's awful. Plastic acting. Hackneyed writing and really show me that many good looking Irish people in one place. I'm 1/2 a mick; were not ugly but were not renowned for our beauty.

i've only seen one episode so far, the one with the wake. there was way too much going on for me. i was trying to keep up with the story line, but i think everyone was just annoying me. it gave me a headache & i don't even think i made it all the way through.

Why do the brothers all apear to be about 19 except for the youngest who could pass for 30? The last week he gives the hot chick the cold shoulder and this week he's at her g d dinner when it opens. This show isn't all that bad but it's lucky in my mind to be on monday night because I won't watch CSI or anything else. When it comes down to it i'm really not sure why i'm watching it still.

I don't know what everyone is complaining about. The acting is sup-par, but overall it's a decent show that gets better and better every week. Last week's episode was the best to date and this week's episode wasn't bad either. I think the plot is good, the way they tell the story is a little different and interesting, and there are some great charaters. Redfoot is great. The mother is great. And I like the brothers, although some of the acting is admitedly terrible. It also has an edge that I don't find on a lot of shows. I won't put it up there with Heroes or Lost or 24 (on the same level as Jericho for me), but it's grabbed my attention and I'll be watching until they yank it off the air for something far worse.

On April 2, 2007, NBC announced that the series would be pulled after the April 16 episode. Only nine of 13 episodes (eight on NBC, one on NBC.com) will have aired at that time. There is no word on when or if the series will return. [2]

Over at NBC, net will yank Paul Haggis-Bobby Moresco drama "The Black Donnellys" from its posh Monday-night perch in order to make room for its new reality take on "Wedding Crashers."

"Donnellys" had been slated to air most of its 13-seg run at 10 p.m. Mondays. Assuming NBC doesn't pull the plug sooner, "Donnellys" will end April 16, getting to air just eight episodes on Mondays -- with only two of those segs airing behind original episodes of "Heroes."

Drama hasn't fared well in the ratings recently. Despite a solid "Deal or No Deal" lead-in, last week's seg sank to third place in the 10 p.m. hour, losing even to the season finale of "What About Brian."

What's bad for "Donnellys" is good for "Crashers," however.

this blows. i liked the show, 2nd half hour of episode one was excellent. it seemed to be better fit for a movie or on hbo. the wife mentionted that they didnt show previews for next weeks episode and i remarked that "maybe its getting cancelled." i would have at least liked to have seen where this season was headed.

and i can't tell from the article, are they cancelling it? changing time slots? wtf?

Is anyone still watching this show?

I know they pulled the show from NBC but there are still new episodes on the NBC website. I caught 3 that never aired.

All in all, it's a fucking great show that is growing on me more and more. I love the interactions between the brothers - it all seems very realistic. Dokie (Redfoot) is a great character and something's about to go down between him and the italians. Very smart show, interesting writing, good characters, a hot HOT chick, action, etc. What's not to like.

I don't understand why NBC would rather show repeats of My Name Is Earl when they have brand new shows that should be aired. I hate watching tv on my computer. It's just stupid on their part.

I really like this show and I wish it was still coming on. Too bad people would rather watch Dancing with the Stars or My 5th Grader is Smarter than You (or whatever that's called).

yea it never makes sense to not air a show that is already produced and ready to go. the rating were not a 1 share, i think they were getting 8 million an episode, so just keep it on.

First Invasion and now this. I'm so sick of the way these tv stations run these shows lately. Everything runs for a bit and then takes a 2-3 week break, and then comes back. Then gets cancelled because people lose interest or find something else to watch during the 2-3 week break. How many nights/week of American Idol do we really need? How many copies of CSI do we need? How about some variety on TV somewhere besides this same show/same city bullshit for variety. "Hey honey look! It's that show we like, but this time it's in Miami!" Bah! Fuck you CBS, NBC, FOX and ABC! Everytime you put out a new show and I start to get into it and you cancel it's like you're lying to me. TV is as bad as the music business with their canned bands and britney spears pop tart clones.

Make the show.
Put it on the air.
Run commercials for the show so we know about it.
Air the full season without interruption of more than 1 missed week at a time or air nothing at all.

It's like daytraders. Just fucking pick something and stick with it you ball-less pieces of crap. Maybe if you were forced to stick with something for a full season, you'd be forced to pick better stuff in the first place.

Sorry about the rant. ---> copy paste into email to ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX.
