Why is Fox News trying toi become this new funny, hip TV station? Fox news should just face the fact that they are too stiff and not liberal enough to be down with todays 20-30 something's

First they put on that awful copy of the John Stewart Show. Now they have another show called "Red Eye". It suppose to be a gossip/entertainment based show that talks about entertainment, media, internet and "wacky stuff" The show has this little (I mean real small) table with 4 hacks squeezed in around the table talking about things and saying "dude" and "not" and then laughing at themselves. They even called the hosts 80 year old mother and talked to her for 5 minutes.

Fox News your job is not to be funny, or tell the "REAL TRUTHFUL" News, its to make the left look crazy and push the talking point of the Bush administration and the right.

Exactly. Woulnd't these shows be better suited to FX? It's not like Murdoch doesn't have an assload of stations he could dump this garbage on.

Maybe Fox News has realized they can do anything they want and still retain credibility with their viewers?

I tried watching the Half Hour Show, and it's awful!!! If they want conservative views presented comedically, they should call Nick DiPaolo, Colin Quinn, Dennis Miller, and Jim Norton. They also shouldn't be afraid to make fun of Bush every so often. It tries SO FUCKING HARD to be safe that it'll never befunny or edgy. Blechh

And that's their problem. They don't have the freedom to mock their side of the aisle that a show like "The Daily Show" has.

Id say its cyclical been done meaning been done since the beginning and no stations are completely innocent, in that age-old crime that TV, radio, music, just about all art does: steal from the past, and others that were succesful before you, and/or jump on the bandwagon too late with a copycat show.

But the short answer to the thread title id say is ya.

But I dont watch TV news. Or the parody stuff.

Do you realize how hard it is to fill 168 hours a week with straight news. CNN has Larry King the oldest and best news parody show on TV. MSNBC had a Sci-Fi show on Doomsday. These stations only purpose is to sell advertising and they'll try anything to do it
