My bedroom is pretty close to the laundry, so I've grown to like the sound of the dryer.

I will fall asleep immediately to waves crashing or Pachelbel's Canon in D.

I have used all kinds of things to help me relax and fall asleep, the noise of a fan, cds of rainstorms, crickets, the ocean, classical music, even a radio tuned to an inactive frequency which gives a very nice white noise hiss. they all work well with me.

Currently I tune into XM 164 old time radio programs. I prefer "white noise". Otherwise, I have an air cleaner in my bedroom that has a fan that makes noise that masks other noises. If my power went off in the middle of the night and the noise stopped, I would wake up. I have a very hard time sleeping without white noise.

Our A/C will regulate its tempature, so its always on. I also just got Devin Townsend's newest CD The Hummer which is an ambient noise album that chills me out at work.

Lately, I've found that listening to any Coldplay album will put me out in about 4 songs.

ive always had a difficult time falling asleep, on average, i can lay awake in bed for an hour before falling asleep, some times its longer, but rarely is shorter. i just got one of the sound machines and it seems the white noise works the best for me. i am also a very light sleeper. i wake up 3-4 times a night.
